Show Funeral Services For George Funk Held In My ton MYTON (Special) George Francis Funk, 46, of Myton, died suddenly at his home Tuesday evening, eve-ning, Oct. 4, of a heart ailment. He was born March 23, 1909 at Ephraim, a son of Henry N. and Stella Geneva Anderson Funk. The family moved to Bingham during dur-ing his early childhood and he entered en-tered school there. They later moved mov-ed to Myton, where George completed com-pleted the 10th grade in the Myton My-ton school. He attended Wasatch Academy two years, graduating with the class of 1928. He married Lydia Ann Jenkins at Vernal, March 18, 1931. A prominent prom-inent businessman, he owned and operated a service station and later lat-er was employed by the Continental Continen-tal Oil Co. In recent years he engaged en-gaged in farming and stick raising while residing in town, and at the time of his death was employed employ-ed as service repairman with the Uintah-Ouray Agency. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 20 in 1935 and was active in the organization, becoming be-coming a Master Mason. Surviving are his widow; 1 son, Howard Funk, of Myton; 2 daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Frances Reynolds, of Roosevelt, and Joni Funk, Myton; 2 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Virginia Vir-ginia Todd, of Myton; a half sister, sis-ter, Pauline Funk, and a half-brother, half-brother, Fritz Funk, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Funeral services were conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Myton LDS ward chapel, under the direction di-rection of Basin Lodge No. 29. Speakers were Cecil Jenkins and Howard Roberts; vocal numbers "Home On The Range" and "In the Evening," were rendered by a quartet, Cecil Jenkins, Merlyn Reynolds, Howard Roberts and Ned Gines, with guitar accompan-ment accompan-ment by Merlyn Reynolds. Prelude and postlude music was by Miss Shirley McConkie. Pallbearers were Harvey Creech, Allen Massie, Elmer El-mer Snow, Axel Birch, W. A. Jennings and Keith Walker. Interment In-terment was in the Roosevelt cemetery cem-etery with prayer by Chaplain Ted Thomas. Dedication of the grave was by Stanley Anderson. Among those from outside points who attended the funeral services were, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley An- derson of Riverton, Mrs. Agnes Anderson and son, Joe Anderson, Woodland; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davies, Mrs. Opal Hott, Mrs. El-thura El-thura Mackay and Mr. and Mrs. Gam Bodily, all' of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. John Watkins, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goodrich, Mrs. George Jenkins, all of Vernal; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Jenkins and Mrs. Colleen Wahlquist, of Othella, Washington. |
