Show Hew DeSoto To Be Viewed Soon At Cr umbo Motor The daring, utlra-modern "Flight Sweep" body styling concept of the new 1956 DeSoto combines the beautiful sweeping lines of the "Forward Look" with high-sweep high-sweep fin-type rear fenders to provide' an even for dramatic, low slung, taut, eager and striking forward thrust appearance. This beauty goes on display at Crumbo Motor at Roosevelt in the near future. From the new full swept perforated per-forated mesh "floating" grille, bumper, parking lights and safety beam headlamps to the smart new upswept color sweep and rear fenders with three-tiered, turreted, body-integrated and highly decorative decor-ative tail lamps, these cars are lithe, clean-lined and uncluttered. They will be recognized immediately immed-iately as the smartest, longest and lowest-looking ever produced by DeSoto, announces Albert Crumbo, manager of Crumbo Motor. More Power Both the Fireflight and Firedome models are powered by new larger engines, with substantial increases in power, in keeping with performance per-formance requirements of our super-highway age. The Fireflite engine now provides 255 horsepower, horse-power, while the Firedome is rated rat-ed at 230 horsepower. Both engines, set in cushioned cradle front mountings, deliver more torque for improved getaway acceleration, plus improved fuel economy. |
