Show Yoon-Yuo Carnival Dance h Huge Success The Yoon Yun Carnival dance was made a big success by the combined efforts of the Union High School yearbook staff, faculty, fac-ulty, students, parents and townspeople. towns-people. The dance was designed to avoid the necessity 'of securing yearbook ads from downtown stores. Centered around a carnival theme, the fete featured hats, confetti, con-fetti, "lucky" balloons, thirty door prizes, fish pond, dart games, food sale and grab bags. Mayor Paul Murphy and faculty members were kept busy shining the students' shoes. Wendell' Johnson, as main barker, kept things moving and the crowd in good humor. Dwain Buchanan proved to be an excellent excel-lent auctioneer. Mr. Andrus, of the Union faculty, did a record business as Marryin'j Sam. He was assisted by Mrs. Elmer Huber. Virgie Murphy held students spellbound as she told their fortunes, for-tunes, and the clowns, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Harrison, kept the crowd in stitches. Drew Bellon and Judy Hatch were named favorite fav-orite boy and girl and were presented pre-sented gifts from Marvell Neilson and Robert Sather Jewelry Stores. The dance was under the direction direc-tion of Ralph Larson, business manager, and Joy Bowden, assistant assist-ant business manager of the yearbook. year-book.
