Show Cost Of New Building At Altamont Is $387,273.18 Two Wings Built For Music, Home Economics Students at the Altamont High School are attending classes in the new school building dedicated recently, re-cently, reports Supt Rowan C. Stutz of the Duchesne County School District. The new building was started in June, 1954. Total cost of construction construc-tion was $387,273.18. General contractor con-tractor for the construction was the Witt Construction Co., whose contract was for $291,453.00. Stevenson Heating and Plumbing of Altamont, installed the heating and plumbing systems for $62,00 contract. The electrical contract was awarded to Allred Electric of Duchesne for $15,060.00. A sewage disposal field is now under construction at the building site by the Phillips Construction Co. of Roosevelt, who are working under a $13,668.55 contract. New construction at the school consists of two wings, built to an existing structure. One wing includes in-cludes a music room, science room and an activity room. The other wing houses a home economics room, a class room, gymnasium, dressing rooms and toilet rooms for both boys and girls. This new construction affords 23,000 square feet of additional area for the high school facilities. A remodelling program carried out on the existing structure provides pro-vides for library facilities and an administrative suite. This remodeling remod-eling project, which includes interior inter-ior decorating, was done at a cost of $12,800.00, Supt. Stutz said. Construction of the new building build-ing greatly expands educational facilities in the "Upper County" area of central northern Duchesne County. |
