Show Church Notes The Relief Society held their regular work meeting Tuesday. Work was under the direction of work leader Mable Nebeker. The ladies quilted on the quilt they are making to be sold at the Relief Society bazaar, which will be held Thanksgiving night at the Avalon ward house. A pot-luck lunch was enjoyed by the ladies attending. Stake Primary visitors attending our Primary Tuesday were: Mrs. Kate Peterson and Mrs. Geniel Jensen of Neola. The Avalon MIA participated in the stake MIA Road Show. Nar-ator Nar-ator was Hazel Wardle. Taking part were Grant Jarman, Veda Jensen, all the Mia Maids and both Bee Hive groups. It was under un-der the direction of drama director, Lula Dudley. A large group from our ward attended the road show at the Ballard ward chapel. The Primary held their ward Preparation meeting Wednesday evening at the ward house. The lesson was presented by Lora Bas-tian. Bas-tian. Pie and ice cream were served ser-ved to the group by the executive officers. The Singing Mothers met Wednesday Wed-nesday evening to practice the songs for their Sunday evening services. Speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday were Janet Brough, Pauline Pickup and Wendel Johnson. The Fireside meeting was held Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall. Talks were given by Donald Wall and Melton Stoddard'. Two instrumen-seiections instrumen-seiections were played by Velma, Shirley and Pauline Pickup. Carolyn Caro-lyn Stoddard accompanied at the piano. Light refreshments were served to those attending. COUPLE MARRIED Carolyn Ross, of Ballard, and Mortin Chandler ' were married Friday evening at 6 p.m. at the Ballard ward house. Relatives and friends from here attended the reception which was held following follow-ing the wedding. The newlyweds are honeymooning in Idaho and will make their home here when they return. Mr. and Mrs. Richard O'Neil and family, of Price, spent the weekend week-end here visiting with members of their families. Visitors at the Henry Wall home Sunday were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Wall, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gardiner Gardi-ner and their two daughters, all of Vernal. ' Mr. and Mrs. Norton Shelton and son, Duane, of Roosevelt, spent Sunday visiting at the J. E. Jensen home. Don Lewis and Mrs. Donna Anderson, An-derson, of Roosevelt, were Wednesday Wed-nesday visitors ,at the J. E. Jensen Jen-sen home. |
