Show Progressive Party Will Choose Nominees Tonight According to Kenneth Labrum, acting chairman of the Progressive Party of Roosevelt, a call is being be-ing made to all party members and others desirous of seeing good government in Roosevelt, to meet in regular convention tonight at the Elementary School house. In a bid to meet the deadline of Oct. 22, date all filings for city offices should be certified by city recorders, the Progressives expect to nominate three citizens to run for four-year council posts. They also expect to reorganize the party officers. Chairman of the party is Robert Ferron, however, pressing business matters have forced him to delegate his power to Mr. Lab-rum. Lab-rum. Two Tickets Expected Information coming this way indicate in-dicate the People's Party will also have three candidates for office on the coming Nov. 8th ballot. According Ac-cording to Dr. Paul G. Stringham, chairman, one nominee has been selected and two others are assured. as-sured. An incumbent councilman Lynn Johnstun, has been nominated to succeed himself. The other two places will be filled before the deadline on Saturday. Other retiring councilmen are: Merlin Sullivan and Kenneth Ay-cock. Ay-cock. Mr. Sullivan says he will not be a candidate for re-election. However, Mr. Aycock will probably prob-ably be nominated by the Progressive Pro-gressive party. |
