Show By Mrs. Viola Jensen Ward Priesthood Group Gives Sunday Program The Aaronic priesthood group presented the program in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting, Sunday. A quartet quar-tet consisting of Vern McMullin, Robert Dudley, Quint Pickup and Richard Durfee, sang, "On Lovely Susquehanna's Banks;" a story of the Restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood, by Herbert Her-bert Harris; LaRue Pickup made two individual awards to Robert Dudley and Donald Wall; "The Letter To Her Brother," by Oliver Cowdery, was read by Ralph Taylor; the quartet sang, "Just a Boy," Velma Pickup Pick-up accompanied on the piano; Cut line of Duties of a Teacher, i by Larry Dudley; Why I Like to Gather Fast Offerings," by Donald Wall; the Duties of a Priest, by Vern McMullin. Mr. and Mrs. Lemos Thacker and Mr. and Mrs. Arza S. Adams, Ad-ams, of Duchesne, visited Sunday Sun-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall. Mrs. Thacker is a sister of Mrs. Wall, and Mr. Adams is Mrs. Wall's brother. A large crowd of people from here attended the Union High School graduation, Thursday evening. Those graduating from I here were: Veda Wall, Quint Pickup, Lyle Pickup Barbara . Brown and Wanda M. Kettle. The four upper grades of the Avalon school enjoyed an ex- cursion to the Green River I Gorge and Dinosaur Monument. I The Avalon school bus took the I children. j The Relief Society ladies at- tending the special literature lesson at Myton ward, Tuesday, , were: Madge Wall, Lula Dudley, Viola Jensen, Ada Pickup, Hannah Han-nah Harris, Mable Nebeker, Etta Et-ta McMullin, Antonella Wall. Home demonstration agent, Freda S. Davis, spent a week instructing ladies from the Leo-ta Leo-ta and Randlett wards how to refinish old and new wood. Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Pickup made a trip to Salt Lake City, Friday. Harold Dudley accompanied accom-panied them. Miss Grace McMullin left for Idaho Falls, Idaho to spend the summer with her sister, Mrs. Charles Wahlquist. j Jo McMullin had the cast re moved from his leg last week. Mrs. Mamie Chandler has been visiting at the home of her son, William Chandler. Mrs. Chandler spent the winter with her brother, T. B. Murphy, of Oklahoma City. Miss Annie Turner has returned re-turned to her home in Lapoint, after spending the winter at the William Chandler home and attending Union High School. Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler Chand-ler received word that their son, Morton, has completed his basic training. He is in the Combat Engineers. COMING FROM KOREA Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall received re-ceived word that their son, Wil-ford, Wil-ford, who has been in Korea since April 4, 1952, is now coming com-ing home. He left Japan on the 9th of April. His wife and little daughter are coming from Hawaii Ha-waii and will make their home in Salt Lake City. Supt. Henry Wall was ill Sunday and unable to attend Sunday School. Myron Brough conducted. Stake Sunday School superintendent, Jesse Hullinger, was a visitor. Supt. Harold Lundell and Pri mary Supervisor Beatrice Stringham were Avalon school visitors last week. Clyde Jarman and Mrs, Jesse Wilson came home from Manila, Utah, Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Swilt, of Greendale, Utah ,were recent visitors at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Myril Moore. The Primary Trail Builders and Zions II Boys enjoyed an outing up Uinta Canyon Saturday. Satur-day. Leaders Myril Moore and Jewelll Wall accompanied them. Myril Moore and Lydia Brough were chosen as 4-H leaders. lead-ers. Mrs. Hamilton, of Salt Lake City visited last week with her daughter, Mrs. Dee Brough. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pickup spent Friday in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Taylor and family, of Logan, visited Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Blake Peay are proud parents of a baby girl, born at the Uintah Basin Hospital. Hospit-al. Mrs. Sadie Peay is staying -1 in Vernal to care for mother ! and new baby. A party honoring Lynn Nebeker Nebe-ker was given Tuesday evening. Square dancing was enjoyed and light refreshments were served. Lynn left Saturday to return to camp. i Mrs. Hannah Harris spent the week helping her daughter, Mrs. Glen Allred, of Roosevelt. Mrs. Allred fell and hurt herself while moving into her new home. Mrs. Zilpha Wall has been confined in the Uintah Basin hospital. Stake High Councilman Von Simper was a visitor at all meetings Sunday. |
