Show flJfm THE By Carl Hollev NEOLA SCOUT BANQUET Among the many Scouting activities ac-tivities of the week was the Neola Scout banquet. Talk about a gang with plenty of fire and bubble! Neola has it. The banquet honored their Explorers Ex-plorers and Scouts and it sure- ly gave me an idea of what could and does happen with the right spirit. You know we've been having some wonderful District Courts of Honor and we've had a good amount of advancement, too, but believe it or not, Neola, during dur-ing their banquet last Tuesday, presented as many awards as our best Court of Honor to date. Here's just an idea of what they did: Paul Whiting, Scoutmaster, presented Neil Jensen and Ralph Anderton with their First Class awards. He also made the Life Award presentation to Sheldon Spencer. (Keep your eyes on Sheldon, it won't be long before be-fore he'll get the Eagle.) Arthur Mitchell presented Merit Badges to Ken Bastian, Keith Davis, Norman Dye, Gayle Eskelson and Ordell Olsen, all of Scout Troop 270. Ferris Henrie Hen-rie presented Merit Badges to the Explorers. Boys receiving Merit Badges were Ralph Anderton, An-derton, Keith Bastian, Ferrell Crozier, Lloyd Duncan, Larry Dye, Garth Horrocks, Neil Jensen, Jen-sen, Clem Oberhansly, Sheldon Spencer and Von Whiting. I'm sure ytfu'll agree that this is a great showing for one sponsoring institution. |
