Show Region Five Play-Off For Tourney Posi Sev Toniglri f REGION FIVE PLAY-OFF MARCH 10 AND 11 First Da'y Union vs Monticello - 7 p.m. Altamont vs Blanding - 8:30 p.m. Second Day First Day Losers - 7 p.m. First Day Winners - 8:30 p.m. Union High School will meet Monticello High tonight at 7 p.m. in the opening game of a two-day play-off between four teams, who will be scrapping for a chance to be the third team from Region Five to enter the Class "B" tournament tour-nament next week at Provo. At 8:30 Blanding and Altamont will take the floor in the second game of the contest. According to L. F. Hutchings, secretary of. the board of managers man-agers of Region Five, Roosevelt and Union High were chosen two weeks ago as the site of the playoff, play-off, and all games will be played in the Cougar gym. The tourney brings the second and third place teams from the two divisions together to-gether in some community in one of the six counties that make up Region Five. On Friday night the losers in tonight's games will meet at 7:00 p.m., and the winners at 8:30, with the best team of the second game getting the coveted place in the big meet at the George Albert Smith fieldhouse at Provo, which opens next Wednesday. This will be the second year Union Un-ion has participated in such a play-off. They won the honors last year at Monticello and went into the Class "B" tournament, which was also held at Provo. Admission is $1.00 for adults and 50e for all students. |
