A Great Service For approximately a year the Roosevelt LDS Hospital has been receiving Red Cross blood, which has been a tremendous help to our local people needing blood in a hurry. Supt. J. Harold Eldrege stated that several pints of fresh blood are kept on hand all the time, but in the event a certain, type is needed that they don't happen to have, they can call Salt Lake City and the blood is sent out on the evening bus and arrives here at midnight, or if it is needed sooner than bus service can deliver deli-ver it, the highway patrolmen deliver it. Freight costs are paid by the Red Cross. He stated that it has been a wonderful thing for the patients in this area, and urges people locally to donate blood if possible when the blood mobile is here on March 21. |
