Show Newlyweds Feted At Reception The Myton LDS ward chapel was the setting for a wedding reception re-ception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Rider, recently.The bride is the former Mary Ann "Mathisen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Mathisen and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Rider of Salem, Virginia. T h e y were married February 28 at Halifax, North Carolina, j The bride wore a paie pink floor I length gown of nylon tulie over pink taffeta and wore a corsage of pink roses. Best man duties were assumed by "Wendell Math-! isin, the bride's brother. Mother-of Mother-of the bride wore a pink and grey afternoon dress. The gift room was in charge of Mrs. Xoyal Perry while Mrs. Marion Ross had I charge of the refreshments. Master of ceremonies for the occasion i was Loryn Ross, who introduced the following program: Accordian I solo, Mrs- Milton Nielson; Reading, Mrs. Aften Richens; Vocal solo, Roy Anderson, accompanied by Mrs. Lorin Alexander; Vocal solo, Merrill Chandler, accompanied by Mrs. Syerl Dennis; Vocal trio, Blondell Mathisen, Adrienne and Charma Giles;. Accordian solo, Dale Peterson; Vocal solo, Gwen Mthisen; Saxaphone solo, Bonnie Daniels, accompanied by Rose-; Rose-; mary Daniels. j A beautiful wedding cake, top-! top-! ped by the traditional, minature ; bride and groom, centered the ; serving table. A host of friends were present to extend greetings i to the newlyweds, who are here ' on a short vacation visit at the I home of the bride's parents. j Miss Nonalee Holgate and Miss ! Sherril Richens, who attended ', Gilrs' State at Logan as delegates from he Myton Legion Unit No. 5, returned Sunday. They report the training was both educational and entertaining and they will long remember the happy week. Mr and Mrs. J. L. Courtland j and daughter arrived home Tues-i Tues-i day from a two week vacation trip through the Northwest and to Vancouver. B. C, where they visited visit-ed Mr. Courtlancfs brother, P. W. Courtland and family. They also stopped in Pasco, Washington where they greeted Mr. and Mrs. ' Lavar Peterson and family who moved from Myton last fall. Wilmer Murray was rushed to ; Salt Lake City Monday evening to receive medical attention. He is hospitalized for treatment but is reported to be somewhat improved. im-proved. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck accompanied Mrs. Murray to Salt Lake. Mrs. Murray came home Wednesday to attend to business matters and returned Thursday to be with her husband. J. B. Murray, father of Mr. Murray, came from Salt Lake Thursday to help with the farm duties and to be with the family. Ross Harmon and "Curley" Cooper, who are employed at Moab, arrived Wednesday for a short vacation to enjoy a fishing trip in the Basin. Both are former Myton residents. Ralph C. Walker returned to Salt Lake City, Tuesday after a visit of several days at the home of , his sister and brother-in-law, JVIr. and Mrs. O. A. Dart. Miss LaRee Bywater has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Alvery at Roy, Utah. DANCE IN FESTIVAL Among the Myton MIA members who left last Thursday for Salt Lake City to join other members of this stake and were a part of the Dance Festival were: Susan Crapo, Ilene Morrill, Inez Burgess Bur-gess and Elaine Chandler. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Solmonson of Quincy, Washington visited Mrs. Olga Solmonosn Thursday. They came from Washington to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Solmonson in Roosevelt. Mrs. Florence Lott, president of District No. 9, American Legion Auxiliary, installed the officers of Unit No. 22 in Duchesne, Tuesday evening. She was accompanied by Mrs. Olga Solmonson. BOY HAS POLIO Stephen Bowden, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bowden, is hospitalized in Salt Lake City, suffering with polio of the throat. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stephens and children went to Rifle, Colorado Wednesday and returned Friday afternoon. They enjoyed a two day visit with relatives during their short vacation. Mrs. W. E. Burton. went to Salt Lake Thursday where she will visit at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Biltz. She will be joined by another daughter, Mrs. Glen Kearney of Portland, Oregon and the family will enjoy a vacation to Southern Utah before returning return-ing to Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown of Montwel left Tuesday for Washington, D. C. Mr. Ross and Mr. Brown are directors of the R. E. A. and will attend to matters relative to that organization. organi-zation. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Denver arrived ar-rived Wednesday from Denver, Colo, where they spent the winter while Charles attended the Barnes Business College. They are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck, parents of Mrs. Denver, and will spend the summer here and in Ft. Duchesne with his parents,. par-ents,. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Denver. Jr. before returning to school this fall. ' Mrs. James Dalgleish left Sat. for Salt Lake to spend the Father's Day weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart. She will visit Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Walker while there. Mr and Mrs. H. C. Cooper and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Giles and' children and Mr and Mrs. A. C. Tolboe left Friday for a weekend week-end vacation at the Monks ranch near Hayden, Colorado. They will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Monks and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Monks while there. Miss Kay Terry of Orem has been a -guests of Miss Ilene Morrill Mor-rill during the past week at the Alfred Morrill home. |
