RED, WHITE AND BLUE A set of local g rls do the all-girls' dance number which was featured fea-tured in the MIA June Conference dance festival. The festival was held Saturday night,, June 16, at the University of Utah Stadium. Stake Represented In Dance Festival Thirty young people from the Roosevelt Stake participated in the combined Dance and Drama Festival held in connection with MIA Conference Saturday night. Eight thousand' dancers danced on the football field, of the U of U. Twenty-seven thousand spectators witnessed the spectacular affair. The performance was rained out for the first time in eleven years. Those dancing Saturday night were: Couple Dancers: Dee Brod-erick, Brod-erick, Lonnie Kay Winn, David Lundberg. Mary Ellen Blaine, Jimmy Cun-y, Judy Brisbin, Mary Hullinger, Ralph Larsen, Dora Campbell, Jon Larsen, Reed Ras-mussen, Ras-mussen, Celia Kay Jenkins, Shirl Rawlings, Deanna Bowman, Wilda Bascomb. Gordon Bascomb, Earl-ene Earl-ene Mired and Paul Mullins. Girls participating in the All Girls' Dance,, Red, white and Blue weTe: Kaye and Nadine Chugg, Patsy Killian Laura Lee Fredrick-son, Fredrick-son, Ruth Colotzi from Roosevelt 4th ward, Bonnie Daniels and Jerry Denver from Moffat ward, Ilene Morrill, LaRee Bywater, Inez Burgess and Susan Crapo from . Myton ward, and Evette Percival from Ioka ward. Elaine Chandler of Myton danced with the group from Duchesne stake. The dancers were taught by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutzman and Duane Buchanan. The Gutzmans are dance directors for the Roosevelt Roose-velt stake. They were presented a lovely gift by the group in appreciation ap-preciation of the untold number of hours spent by them in getting the young people ready 'to participate. |
