Show 1 Reservation News - - - j W About The ' UINTAH-OURAY INDIAN RESERVATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS FILL VACANCY The Board' of Directors an-nouced an-nouced this week that William C. Reed has refused to fill and serve on the Board and that they appointed Henry Wopsock to fill the vacancy as Albert Daniels. Jr. was unable to serve due to being a Government employee. The Board of Directors also elected officers with Lula Murdock, president; pres-ident; Preston Allen, vice-president; and Elizabeth Bumgarner, secretary. The office of Treasurer has not been filled as yet. The General Council meeting to be held for the Affiliated Ute Citizens Citi-zens of the State of Utah has been scheduled for July 14 in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Affiliated Utes. Notice of general meetings must be sent 30 days in advance. The purpose of the meeting is to approve the annual, budget for 1956-57, to discuss what to do on legal advise, such as a lawyer, the proposed program (Supplemental) (Supple-mental) Law and Order, to amend the Constitution and By-Laws, and any other business that may come before the Board. R-N Leaving for Ft. Washakie, Wyo. over the weekend to attend the three-in-one birthday party for Jack Harris. Juanita Harris and Tressa Aragon were the following relatives: Ada Zulfelt, Mr. and Mrs. Oran Curry, Henry Harris, Mary E, Harris, Lula Murdock, Anetta Reyos, and Pamp Harris. The tripple birthday party was hpM Sundav evening as the three birthdays fell on the same day. Jack Harris . is a brother to the mentioned relatives and Juanita Harris and Tressa Aragon are ni6CGS. Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Carter left Friday for Oxbowl, Canada, where they will spend two weeks vacationing. R. O. Curry, business manager, was in Salt Lake City on business busi-ness last Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Alfred Parriet and daughter daugh-ter motored to Salt Lake City Friday where they met Mr. Par-riett Par-riett who had spent the past week attending school under the Tribal Recreation division. They returned' home Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mitchell 'and children spent Thursday and I Friday with Mr., and Mrs. Preston : Allen at Altonah. I Mr. and Mrs. Frank Takesgun and daughteT from -Crow Agency, Montana, stopped over Wednes- day to visit friends on the reser- vation as they were passing thru ! to Phoenix. : Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bumgarner and children enjoyed the weekend week-end in Salt Lake City I C. J. Carter, special officers, :was in Clearfield and Salt Lake ! City on business Wednesday. I Miesses Geraldine Denver and Bonnie Daniels participated in the dance festival in Salt Lake City last week. Geraldine Denver also ' played two piano selection at the , Cinigrill. I Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Gutzman !are visiting in Salt Lake City this week. I Mr. and Mrs. Charles Denver are home to spend the summer I from Denver, where they have been attending school. Approimately 15 persons attended attend-ed the leadership course at the University of Utah last week that was was sponsored by the Tribal Recreation Dept. Mrs. Irma Sutteer left by plane for Phoenix Tuesday morning on I personal business. She returned to work Thursday . Anne Dilloworth, Health Nurse, attended the BPW meetings in Salt Lae City- over the weekend. The Ute Tribal art exhibit was displayed at the Library at the University of Utah last week. |
