Show Gut Boys RALPH JOHNSTUN Ralph Johnstun, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Johnstun, I of Roosevelt, is completing his j AF basic airmen indoctrination I course at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, the "Gateway to the Air Force." Lackland, situated near San Antonio, is the world's largest air force base, site of Air Force ; basic training, for men and women, wo-men, headquarters of the Hu man Resource Research Center, and home of AF's Officer Candidate Can-didate School. His basic training is preparing prepar-ing him for entrance into Air Force technical training and for assignment in specialized work. The course includes a scientific evaluation of his aptitude and inclination for following a particular par-ticular vocation and career. BOYD J. REDDEN Army Pvt. Boyd J. Reden, son of Mrs. Reva Redden (father deceased), de-ceased), Upalco, Utah, recently was assigned as a code specialist with the Repair and Maintenance Mainten-ance Company of the 51st Signal Sig-nal Battalion in Korea. The 51st, which is the oldest signal battalion in the Army, furnished communications for I Corps throughout the crucial periods of the Korean conflict. It installed the first communications commun-ications in Seoul during March 1951 when I Corps recaptured the capital city. Private Redden entered the Army last February and completed com-pleted basic training at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif., before transferred to Korea. He attended the Utah State Agriculture College where he was a member of the Alpha Teu Alpha, Lambda Delta Sigma and Alpha Zeta fraternities. |
