Ivory Uintah Basin Soil Conservation District News Arrangements have been com-i pleted this week whereby the! Soil Conservation Service, the, Farmers Home Administration, and the Production Marketing Administration will be renting one building for office space so that farmers can contact representatives rep-resentatives of these agencies without traveling to different parts of the town. The new office of-fice space will be in the Frand-sen Frand-sen building, 3l2 blocks west of Main Street on First North. It is expected the move to the new offices will be made about July 1. s C s Ray Broadhead, between Tabi-ona Tabi-ona and Utahn, on the Duchesne Du-chesne river, has completed 10 acres of land leveling. The job was done by Mr. Daybell, a contractor from Midway, Utah. s C s Hugh Murray at Roosevelt has completed another block of leveling lev-eling on the Bruce Fitzgerald farm south of town. s C s Tony Uresk at Myton has planted 20 acres of new irrigated irri-gated pasture this spring. s C s "To skin and exhaust the earth Is to undermine the destiny des-tiny of our children." Theodore Roosevelt. s C s Drainage investigations are being be-ing carried out for James E. Larsen, at Cedarview; Leonard Rogers, at Randlett; Virgil Ferguson, Fer-guson, at Ioka; and Sherman and Joe Swasey. at Boneta. s C s Glen Gilbert, at Mytqn, planted plant-ed 5 acres of tail wheat grass and 10 acres of stiff hair wheat grass for seed production this spring. With good luck Glen will have some seed for sale next year. s C s James W. Lewis has planted 4 acres of tall wheat grass and 4 acres of stiff hair wheat grass on his farm just west of Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. Mr. Lewis plans to' make a seed production project out of this planting. |
