Show SS N6vc A rumor that had flooded the Basin and vicinity earlier this week that the Duchesne Ute Tribal No. 1 well had come in, was not exactly authentic. However, How-ever, there were a few strong indications that are still encouraging, encour-aging, but company officials of the Carter Oil Co., are not making mak-ing any predictions. According to L. T. Hart, chief geologist at Vernal, on May 27 a drill-stem test was made between be-tween 7490-7549 feet, open 40 minutes, with gas to the surface in 15' minutes having an estimated esti-mated flow rate of 40,000 cu. ft. per day. Initial flowing pressure was 150 lbs, and final flowing pressure 745 lbs. The test, according to Mr. Hart, was not completely successful suc-cessful as mud was continuously by-passing packers. Testers recovered re-covered '8 10 feet of mud cut with green wax oil and 500 feet of gas-cut mud. They are conditioning condition-ing the mud and lost circulation preparatory to making a retest at the same intervals. The first test was not successful due to leaks. Crews at the Ute Tribal "B" No. 1 well near Roosevelt, Sec 20-1S-1E, are building a road. At the Roosevelt Step-out well. Rosemary Lloyd No. 1, crews spudded in on May 24 at an elevation of 5458 gr, 5471 KDB. Total depth of the 9-78" hole is 1070 ft. Total depth of the 14-34 " hole is 812 ft. Crews are preparing to' run 10-34 " casing. CTews at the Jack A. Burnett No. 1 well on Strawberry, lo-cater lo-cater SW SW. Sec 34-4S-11W are drilling at 7260 ft. Crews at the Rockwood Brown No. 1 well, NE SW Sec. 5-5S-20E are down 9446 ft. A core at 9224-47 ft, recovered 13 ft.; a core between 9325-41 ft., recovered 16 ft.; a core at 9241-79 9241-79 ft, recovered 38 ft. Crews are taking a drill-stem test with packer at 9387 ft. |
