Show Change Leaders .... New Lions Officers installed May 24th Howard M. Ivory, Soil Conservation Con-servation Service employee and prominent church man was installed in-stalled last Thursday night as president of the Roosevelt Lions club, to succeed Lawrell Jensen, at a special ladies night party held at Frontier Orill, with Governor LeRoy Johnson, of Provo, as the installing officer. Installed to assist Mr. Ivory, who served most of 1949 as club president, were Louis Jensen, Harold Dillman and Loman Hut-chings, Hut-chings, as vice presidents; John Blaine, secretary-treasurer; Tommy Tom-my Gabbert, tail-twister; Dwain Buchanan, lion tamer; Gordon Harmston and John Swenson, directors. Hold-over directors are Dr. Vere Johnson and Alva Snow. In addition to a program of entertainment arranged by E. J. Nixon, the meeting was addressed ad-dressed by Governor Johnson. Retiring President Jensen conducted con-ducted the meeting ntil the induction in-duction of President Ivory and then turned the gavel to him as he took his place as a member mem-ber of the board of directors. This week-end the Roosevelt club will join other Utah Lions elbs in their annual convention scheduled for Vernal May 31, : June 1 and 2. The newly installed Lion leader lead-er recently was sustained as second sec-ond counselor in the Roosevelt stake presidency,. Church of Jesus Jes-us Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and had previously served in the Roosevelt ward bishopric. He has been a resident of this city approximately 7 years, being be-ing a native of Fountain Green. |
