Show Young Soldier Held On Car Stealing Charge A 17 year-old soldier, driving a stolen, late model car, was apprehended ap-prehended in Duchesne Wednesday, Wednes-day, June 20, by Howard Powell, highway patrolman, and' Harold "Sharky" Thomas, city marshall. Mr. Powell said he and Mr. Thomas received the report of the stolen car on police radio just a short time before they spied it being driven through town. There were three other occupants occup-ants in the car, service men who were hitchhikers. They were released re-leased after officers and military personnel, determined they hlid not been involved in the car theft. The car, stolen in Salt Lake about 10 a.m., was stopped by the officers in Duchesne shartly after 12 o'clock. The 17 vear-old boy, a service man absence without with-out leave, is Howard J. Taylor, home address, Sixmile, South Carolina. He was released from the custody cus-tody of the Duchesne officers to military personnel later Monday. |
