Show Bride Feted At Spice Shower At Burgess Residence The home of Mrs Bert Burgess was the scene of a very unique Spice Shower complimenting Mrs. Jack Burgess, nee Kay Timothy, Friday, June 22. Co-hostess with Mrs. Burgess was her daughter, Jo Ann. Miss Marilyn Anderson and Mrs.. Leon Ross were in charge of the entertainment, which comprised com-prised soft music played during the afternoon and the making of a very clever scrap book by the guests depicting the lives of Kay and Jack. The Misses Barbara Anderson and Deanna Bowman assisted with the serving. A pink and white color scheme was carried out in a clever center piece of a bride standing in deep ruffles and pink bows of ribbon beneath white wedding bells topped top-ped with pink ribbon bows, flanged flang-ed on the side by pink tapers set in white ruffles, pink ribbon bows and daisies. Beautiful arrangements arrange-ments of pink roses and white columbine completed the attractive attrac-tive decorations. Guests were bidden by original verse entitled "Spice Shower for A Bride." Each guest presented the guest of honor with her favorite fav-orite recipe together with the spice, flavoring or herbs used therein and a word of advice on its origin and use. These were read aloud by the guest of honor, many in rhyme which lent an air of gaity to the afternoon occasion. oc-casion. As a climax to the afternoon after-noon the hostess presented the bride with a recipe box and a pepper mill. A delicious pink and white des sert luncheon was served. Baby parasols atop nut cups added an accent to the occasion. |
