Show Committee (leads For UBIC Hamed By Board At a meeting of the Uintah Basin Industrial Convention Friday night, announcement was made .of a number of persons to head committees com-mittees for the convention wh'ch will be held Aug. 8 10 in Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Dave Watkins has been named chairman of the parade. He is working on the project with the American Legion and is urging wide participation of individuals, organizations and business establishments estab-lishments from all over the Basin in making entries in the parade. Mrs. Denny Martin is in charge of arranging a "story Princess". Glen Allred will handle sports, and baby show arrangements are being headed by Mrs. Orson Stevens. Johnny Cook will assist Owen Burgener with the talent shows which will be presented all three nights. Mrs. Jack Nielsen will handle girls teen-age department and Ted Heath the boys. Mrs. Norman Labrum is chairman of the fashion show which will be sponsored by the Culture Club. Men's department will be conducted con-ducted by Bob Murdock, and the children's department is being headed by Mrs. Fran Harrison. Ladies exhibits are being arranged ar-ranged by LaRue Laris, and Sheldon Shel-don Fitzgerald is taking care of Men's industrial exhibits. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Norton, assisted by Leo Thorn, are in charge of the art exhibits. Mrs. Emily Wilkerson will be in charge of compiling and preparing pre-paring the UBIC program book Mrs. Bennie Schmiett is chairman chair-man of the flower show which will be sponsored by the Garden Club. Women's department arrangements ar-rangements are being made by Mrs. Norman Murphy. The Socialette Social-ette Club is sponsoring the Queen contest. Concessions are being handled by the American Legion Auxiliary and the Business and Professional Women's Club. The BPW is also making arrangements for Miss Utah to be in attendeance. Dance and finances are being handled by the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce. |
