Show PHILLIPS OBSERVE GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY SUN. Approximately seventy-five guests called Sunday between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. to offer congratulations congrat-ulations to Mr. and Mrs. Theo Phillips, who observed their golden gol-den wedding anniversary at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Evans Phillips, thier son and daughter-in-law. ,- Many out-of-town friends and relatives arrived for the occasion, and enjoyed reminiscing with the Phillips' about the pioneering days of the Basin. A special feature of the day was the display of some of the old relics which the honored hon-ored couple had in their home when they were first married. Among them were an old churn, an old' flat iron, the old doctor book, original tools which Mr. Phillips had made and used and the old family album which belonged be-longed to his mother. Another special exhibit included some of the wedding gifts such as vases, dishes and crystal. A center of attraction was the beautiful white anniversary cake decorated with gold and topped with a gold "50", two love birds, roses and lilies. Assisting Mrs. Evans Phillips with arrangements was Mrs. Ted Phillips. Helping with the serving were Marsha and Dixie Phillips, granddaughters of the honored pair, and Miss Elaine Bird.. Thursday, June 21, was the actual act-ual date of the Phillips' anniversary, anniver-sary, and all of Mrs. Phillips' sisteTS and seevral of their husbands hus-bands arrived to spend the day with them. They were: Mr. and Mrs. John Houghton, Provo; Mrs. Georgia Plumley, Mapleton; Mrs. Teresa Burgi, and Mr. and' Mrs. Bert Bailey of Provo. Mr. and Mrs.. Phillips wish to express their appreciation to all their friends who attended the open house in their honor Sunday. |
