Show Bank Will Award Hereford Heifer To Some 4-1! Boy The Commercial Bank of Utah will award some deserving 4-H Club boy from Duchesne county coun-ty a purebred Hereford heifer in ' the near future, is an announcement an-nouncement made this week by local officials of the bank that has offices in Roosevelt and Duchesne. Du-chesne. A contest is being launched, under the direction of Louis Jenson, county agent, who has contacted all 4-H chapters in the county advising them of the rules and circumstances under which boys who have completed the present year's work are eligible to' enter the competition. Boys desiring to win the heifer heif-er must submit the following data to Mr. Jenson, on or before Monday Nov. 5: (A) His 4-H record rec-ord book; (B) a short story telling tell-ing about his 4-H Club work; (C) A written statement telling why he would like to win the heifer, and what his clans are if he wins; (D) A recommendation recommenda-tion from his 4-H club leader. Judging will be on (1) His record rec-ord in 4-H Club work; (2) His worthiness and need; (3) Proper set-up for carrying on a beef project. The award will be made on Saturday Nov. 10, at which time all county 4-H Club boys, girls and leaders will meet in the county's annual Achievement Achieve-ment Award Day to be held in Roosevelt, when all who have participated in 4H Club work during the year will be honored for their achievement. Awarding of the Hereford heifer will be the second such project to be followed in the county this year. During the county fair in late August, the Roosevelt Kiwanis club presented pre-sented young John Percival, of Ioka, with a purebred Jersey heifer, as they started their annual, an-nual, dairy-calf project. |
