Show eetcn-enhett Mrs. Fern Houston . Leeton Well Drilling At 9800 The Leeton Well No. 1, made a shut in test during the week, with a strong blow throughout. This was test No. 19. A drill-stem drill-stem test at a depth of 9724-9772 feet ' recovered 810 fluid mud, 710 of pipe-line oil, then had bad luck and lost an iron in the hole, which was recovered with a bit and junk basket. Crews are coring at 9800 feet. Mrs. Frances Horrocks took a group of students from her room to Vernal Friday afternoon to present a radio program. Theme of the program was "America." Douglas Phillips was home over ov-er the week end. He is a student at U. of U. He gave a talk on college activities in the Sunday afternoon meeting. We always enjoy hearing from the young folks 'who are endeavoring to get an education.; -; ; Miss Annie Turner, of Lapoint, was. a week end visitor at the home of Mrs. Delbert Horrocks. Mr. and Mrs. John Bolton and son, Charles, went to Salt Lake City Friday to attend the Bolton' Bol-ton' reunion. They will return Monday. Mrs. Frances Bowen went to Salt Lake last week to receive medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coltharp came here to care for the home and, supervise Kay during her absence. She will be away for at least a couple of weeks... On Monday Mrs. Delma Long went to "Vernal to visit Mrs. Bart Merkeley. Kennith Long and Verle Haslem, students at B.Y.U., came home to go deer hunting. Kennith gave an interesting inter-esting talk in, church Sunday. Mrs. Long took the boys back Sunday evening and. will visit her sisters,- Mrs. Thelmb Young and Mrs. Olive Miller, in Orem and Springville, before returning return-ing home. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd . Harnv ston have gone hunting; along with most of the men from here. Hoyt Hudspeth, of the Baroid Lab., is back after spending a two-week vacation in Texas. .Mrs., Clair Haslem and Mrs. Ray Haslem:1 were at the oil well recently just watching the men working,, when all of a sudden oil blew out of the hole and all over their car real oil, and they know it. Jack Leavitt, of Neola is, building an addition on the home of Mr; and Mrs. George Houston. '- |
