Show Gulch Oil To Drill Hew Well In Roosevelt Pool Gulf Oil Corporation plans a four-well development program at Roosevelt Pool at an estimated estimat-ed cost of $1,600,000 it was disclosed dis-closed recently. Terms of a lease signed by Gulf and on file in the Uintah County recorder's office at Vernal Ver-nal shows that agreement was made for drilling four tests. It seems apparent that the wells would be drilled whether a current project results in production pro-duction or not. Gulf's drilling contractor now is moving a rig on location at the field, one mile northeast of nearest production at Ute Tribal Tri-bal No. 1 discovery well. The well will go to 9500 feet,' seeking oil in the base of the Greenriver formation. i Three other developmental wells now are drilling at Roosevelt Roos-evelt Pool. Two are being operated oper-ated by Carter Oil and a third by Phillips Petroleum. These firms have joined with Stano-lind Stano-lind Oil and Gas Co. in a uniti plan of development at the field which calls for initial drilling of nine wells at a cost of $3,-600,000. $3,-600,000. According to the lease terms on file at Vernal, Gulf cannot join this unit unless the lessee gives permission. The first well Gulf plans, therefore, is not a part of the field unit development. |
