Show To Display Products . . . . . County (Fair Opens Friday M Duchesne ,. e Duchesne county's annual fair I will officially open at 10 a. m. ' Friday morning at Duchesne and j will continue through Friday and Saturday, with just about everything one would expect to make the event successful, is a report issued by Howard M. Iv- ory, chairman of the Fair Board for 1951. According to Mr. Ivory, the opening activity will be livestock live-stock judging under the direction direc-tion of various leaders in the field of stock raising in the county. These activities will consume con-sume most of the morning; with a girls' 4-H Style Revue at the L.D.S. church at 1 p. m., followed fol-lowed at 2 p. m. by demonstra-tios demonstra-tios by the county 4-H girls. From 2 to 5 each afternoon, the program calls for racing and sports activities to include all classes and ages. In charge of the sports activities are Lester Gardner, of Neola, who is being aided by Vernal Bromley, Duchesne; Du-chesne; Tal Wardle, Neola; and Ned Gines, Roosevelt. Featured in the trick riding each day is Lila Hendricks from Indian Bench, who has a performance that is worth the entire price charged for admission. The finals in the Miss Duchesne Du-chesne County Contest, under the direction of Mrs. Cliff Mem-mott, Mem-mott, of Roosevelt, are slated for Friday evening at 9 o'clock, at which time 13 lovely young ladies will vie for trie right to represent the county in the Miss Utah of 1952 contest at the State Fair. A free dance will follow the contest, which is also free to the public. This affair is to be held in the recreation rec-reation hall of the L.D.S. church. Colored films on industrial development de-velopment of the west are to be shown at 7:30 p. m. The successful contestant in the Miss Duchesne County contest con-test w ill lead the Saturday morning parade and will officially official-ly reign over the remaining Fair program. The parade will start the final day's activities off at 10 a. m., with a baseball game at 10:30 continuing the day's program. Judging of beef cattle will take place at 1 p. m., and the sports program at 2 o'clock will be featured by a tug-ofwar. east side vs. west side of the county; boys pony race, chariot race, trick riding, featuring Lila Hendricks, Hen-dricks, novelty racing, and will be concluded by a pig scramble for the kids. The Duchesne High School band will lead the parade, followed fol-lowed by the Roosevelt Riding Club and the color guard, with Miss Duchesne County next and the various floats. Mayor Otto E. Johnson and W. F. Payne, Duchesne city recreational director, di-rector, are in charge of the parade. pa-rade. A feature for Saturday night will be a return performance of the Ira Dern magician, -wrestling and puppet show that entertained enter-tained Duchesne residents at the fire department-sponsored show last Friday night. Featured will be "Mitzi," the contortionist; and "UNO" will be back with the balancing acts; plus a new wrestling team, among which will be Ray Wilson and Jerry (Continued On Back Page) County Fair ...
