Show WHITEROCKS Madeena Smith (Crowded Out Last Week) A pink and blue shower was given on Wednesday for Mrs. Dot Hendricks and Anna Bess LaRose by the lady missionaries. mission-aries. A large crowd was in attendance. at-tendance. Cake and icecream were served. The ladies received many pretty and useful gifts. Langs Leave Here Fridle Lang and family and Mamie Baldwin left Tuesday for Washington, D. C, where Mr. Lang has employment. Mrs. Baldwin will go to Columbus, Ohio to make her home. The Langs and Baldwins have been residents of Whiterocks the past year. Mrs. Barbara Nyberg and grandson, Reed Harrison, of La-point, La-point, visited Mrs. Ruth Murray on Tuesday. FUNERALS HELD The funeral services of Anson Manning, who was killed in a car wreck in Wyoming, last week were held in Whiterocks Wednesday. Burial was ,in the Whiterocks cemetery. Graveside services were held for Martha Franks, wife of the late Andrew Franks at the Fort Duchesne cemetery on Friday. The LDS missionaries were in charge of the services. A welcome home party was held Wednesday night at the church house for Max Twitchell, who just returned from a year in Korea. Calvin Anderton and his mother, of Tooele, visited a few days thlis week with relatives. rela-tives. Calvin came' for his wife and children, who have been visiting her mother. They returned re-turned home on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Twitchell, Twitch-ell, of Manilla, visited his brother, Wallace Twitchell, and family last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Twitchell Twitch-ell received word they have two new grandchildren: a boy, born to" Mr. and Mrs. Terry Golding, of Salt Lake City, and a girl to Mr. and Mrs. James Plant, of Idaho. WARD CONFERENCE Ward conference was held here on Sunday. The stake presidency pres-idency and several others from the stake were in attendance. Paul Montes has been ill this last week. It was necessary for him to be in the hospital two days last week. |
