Show Mrs. Marvin Stewart accompanied accom-panied Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppel, Jr. home from Salt Lake City, Sunday, While Mr. Stewart was on a fishing trip. Also returning home with them were Dick and John Ruppel. The Stewarts spent a few days last week visiting in Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Bullock and family, of Salt Lake City, were visitors over the weekend at the Lile Butcher home. Mrs. Bullock is Mrs. Butchers' sister. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Timothy Timo-thy and family and Mrs. Mur-ry Mur-ry Harrison, of Salt Lake City, visited over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Timothy. Tim-othy. Mr. and Mrs. LaZell Henrie went to Salt Lake City to get Mr. Dan Mitchell, who recently underwent an operation in the LDS Hospital. i Back in the Basin viisting old friends and neighbors are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Adams, of ( Salem. Mrs. Tom Halen underwent an operation in the LDS Hospital at Salt Lake a week ago Saturday. Satur-day. She is now recuperating at her son's home in Salt Lake, i Mr. Halen and her son, Axel Birch, accompanied her to the Capitol City. Wesley R. Dickerson returned return-ed home Saturday after attending attend-ing the Pacific School of Banking Bank-ing in Seattle for two weeks. His wife and children met him in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rowley, of Preston, Idaho, spent the weekend week-end visiting at the Clarence Rowley home. Eddie Rowley, who' has been home for three weeks, left Tuesday Tues-day night to report to the hospital hos-pital in San Francisco, where he will receive further treatment treat-ment for his foot. He is a Veterans' Vet-erans' Food Corps inspector in the service. Dr. and Mrs. John Z. Brown were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison. While here they enjoyed a fishing trip up Uinta Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Poulson were Provo visitors Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jorgen-sen, Jorgen-sen, of Salt Lake City, enjoyed the weekend at the Van Winter-ton Winter-ton home. Mrs. Jorgensen and Mrs. Winterton are sisters.' Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stroup, of Denver, spent the weekend with Mrs. Stroups parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Angus. They were enroute to California for a two-week two-week vacation. Mrs. Alice Billings, of Vernal, is recuperating at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Taylor, Tay-lor, after suffering a serious illness. Mrs. Homer P. Edwards accompanied ac-companied by Homer Cook, visited vis-ited with the Elmo Nelsons in Salt Lake City from last Thursday Thurs-day to Monday. Lynn and LaVere Labrum made an airplane trip to Salt Lake City, Sunday, on business. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Curtis, Cur-tis, of Provo. Lowell Bair and son, Bruce, left Monday for Richmond, to visit with relatives. Mrs. Bair planned to' join them later in the week. Dr. and Mrs. Paul Stringham left Wednesday for Salt Lake City, where Dr. Stringham planned plan-ned to attend a General Practitioners' Prac-titioners' Conference. Remaining with the Stringham children during their absence are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Olsen. of Logan, Log-an, who are visiting here. Joe Snyder and sons, Lyle and Frank, of Salt -Lake City, spent the weekend in Roosevelt with Mr. and Mrs. Don Snyder. Mrs. Don Snyder and daughters, Shelia and Leslie, accompanied . them to Salt Lake for a week's visit. Visiting several days at the Jesse Birtcher home were Mrs. Birtcher's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence L. Thomas, of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Mr. and Mrs. Owen Ow-en Coberly, of Elkons, West Virginia. Mrs. Birtcher accompanied accom-panied them to Salt Lake City, where they toured the capitol city. Slie hadn't seen her brother broth-er for twenty years, so enjoyed the visit. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Labrum were business viistors in Salt Lake City last Friday and Saturday. Sat-urday. They visited at the Reed Wiscombes home in Provo enroute en-route home. Louis Jensen, of Logan, formerly for-merly of Roosevelt, was a local visitor Tuesday. Drs. L. G. and and D. A. Benson Ben-son and children, of Cedar City, were recent visitors at the h9me of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Benson. Another son, Theron Benson, of Grand June-ton, June-ton, also visited them last week. Frank Chamberlain, of Cor-tez, Cor-tez, Colo., formerly of White-rocks, White-rocks, spent the weekend in Roosevelt visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch left Wednesday morning for a two-week two-week vacation trip to New York. Larry Allred, George Forakis and Gerald Hatch left last week to attend the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural College at Cedar City. Parley Rawlings drove them to Cedar City. , Sunday guests at the John B. Gale residence were Mrs. John D. Gale, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turner and son, Gary, and Mrs. Pearl Gardner and daughter, daugh-ter, Marilyn. Mrs. Earl Eldredge was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital Tuesday Tues-day for medical treatment. The Kent Nelsons are the proud parents of a new son, born Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Richfield. Rich-field. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. at birth and answers to "Tommy." "Tom-my." Tommy has a brother, Kent Paul, 13 months old. Rejoicing Re-joicing with the parents are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson, Roosevelt, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dunn. Richfield. Rich-field. Mrs. Elmer Eldredge and son, Gordon, were Provo visitors last week, where Gordon enrolled at the BYU. Mrs. Ella Roberts returned from Salt Lake City Friday evening, where she had been visiting the past two weeks with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr.- and Mrs. Max Hor-rocks. Hor-rocks. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wright and family, of Heber City, were visitors at the Ralph Shields' residence Monday. |
