Show Young Couple Wed In Baptist Church Ceremony A beautiful wedding (ceremony, (cere-mony, performed in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Baptist church at 7 p. m. Thursday, December 28, united in marriage Miss Velma Ann Brummett, daughter of Mrs. Wesley B. Brummett. of Myton, and Carl McKeever, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan McKeever, of Beaumont, Texas. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Charles Ray, before an altar banked with white chrysanthemums and poinsettas. , . The bride, who was given in marriage by Mr. W. R. Harris, of Myton, wore a floor-length gown of white slipper satin, with full-gathered skirt and fitted fit-ted bodice. It was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and was completed with matching white satin mitts and a veil of bride's illusion, which was fastened to a lace halo crown. Her bouquet was of American beauty roses. The bride was attended by Mrs. Zada Brummett, of Areata, California, as matron of honor, whose formal gown was of pale pink silk - crepe. Bridesmaids were Miss Bernice Felter and Miss Jean McClellan, of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, who chose formal dresses of pale lavender. The three attendants at-tendants had corsages of white carnations tied with ribbons to match their gowns. Two little flower girls, Miss Carol Felter, of Roosevelt, and Miss Ann Brummett, of Areata, both wore pastel blue taffeta dresses and carried nosegays of red roses surrounded with white carnations. Mother of the bride was attired at-tired in an afternoon dress of emerald green crepe, and she wore a white carnation corsage. Performing duties of best man was John McKeever, of Beaumont, Texas, brother of the groom. Preliminary wedding music, "Largo" and "Waltz in A Flat," was played by Miss Dorothy Schurlock, who also played the wedding march. Vocal selections selec-tions were sung by Miss Esther Wogec, accompanied by Mrs. Bennie Schmiett. Numbers included in-cluded "O, Promise Me," and "Because." Immediately following the wedding rites, a reception honoring hon-oring the newlyweds was held in the church dining room for approximately 75 guests. The reception table was centered with a gorgeous four-tier white and pink wedding cake, topped with the traditional miniature bride and groom. Pink lighted tapers in crystal holders were at either end. The gift room was in charge of Miss LaWanna Dillman and Miss Leta Haddock, with general gen-eral reception arrangements under un-der the direction of Mrs. Harold Har-old Dillman. The young couple enjoyed a short honeymoon trip to Salt Lake City, and are now making mak-ing their home in Roosevelt. The new Mrs. McKeever is attending at-tending Roosevelt high school as a seniorl student, and her husband is ' employed by the Sun Oil company. He graduated from Beaumont high school and the LaMarr junior college at Beaumont, Texas, and is also a graduate of the University of Texas, at Austin, and attended the School of Mines, at Denver, Colorado. |
