Show Mrs. Grace Dalgleish City Dads Say Thanks For Help Mayor W. H Linck and members mem-bers of the Myton city council and the committee in charge of the Christmas festivities wish to thank all who so generously contributed to the funds for the "Christmas for the Kiddies," and those who so loyally supported sup-ported and worked during the campaign for funds. Wm Preece, Jr. was hostess to members of the Young Ma tron's club at her home Thursday Thurs-day afternoon, the occasion being be-ing their Christmas party. Sewing Sew-ing was the diversion of the meeting and gifts were exchanged ex-changed by the members present pres-ent Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mrs. An-tone An-tone Uresk, Mrs. Roy Mott, Mrs. John Uresk, Mrs. A. C. Tolboe, Mrs. Frank Uresk and Mrs. Dee Iorg. Refreshments were served. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Mott. The American Legion and Auxiliary, Wm. R. Sano.s Post and Unit 5 held their Christmas-New Year party at the home of Mrs. Merrill Lisonbee, Friday evening. About 25 members mem-bers and partners were present to enjoy an evening of canasta and partake of a delicious lunch. The Auxiliary committee on membership reported their drive was proceeding nicely. The Sunday club members were guests at the home of Mr. ar.d M s. Homer Robinson to celebrate the outgoing of 1950 and welcome in the new 1951 year. A turkey supper was enjoyed en-joyed by the members, followed by an evening of bridge. Places were marked for Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Dal-gleish, Miss Alice Todd, and :Lee Cooper. Prizes were awarded award-ed to Mrs Dalgleish, Floyd Lamb and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Preece and Miss Edith Nell Preece were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Massie at Ft. Duchesne, ! Sunday. A highlight of the regular meeting at the L.D.S. ward chapel Sunday was an interest- j ing talk by Miss Edith Nell j Preece, outlining her experiences experien-ces in Japan during her three-year three-year stay in Japan. , Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ed-1 wards, and son, Richard, of ' Salt Lake City, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ver-non Edwards during the Christ: j mas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Chad Peterson and children, of Richfield, spent irom Wednesday till Friday visiting vis-iting at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck, Mr. and Mrs. Hex Lamb, and Mr. and Mrs. Senor Mortensen. Mrs. Peterson is Mrs. Linck s niece. Mrs. Elmer Yergenson is reported re-ported on the sick list this week. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Brokaw 1 enjoyed a visit from their son-' in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hinton, of Salt Lake City, on New Year's day. Carlos Ann Edwards entertained enter-tained a group of 15 boys and girls, Dec. 29, at a skating- and sleighing party on the Duchesne river, the occasion being -her birthday anniversary. A delicious deli-cious chicken supper was served to the jolly crowd at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Edwards, in the late afternoon. Out of town guests ! were Farrell Johnson and Larry Lar-ry Smuin, of Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roberts Rob-erts and family returned this week from Provo, where they spent the holidays with rela-tives rela-tives and friends. I Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peel and I baby returned Saturday from Mt. Pleasant, where they spent the Christmas vacation with Mr. Peel's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Miller and family, who spent the holidays hol-idays at Logan, returned Monday Mon-day for Mr. Miller to resume his duties as principal of the Myton elementary school. I Mrs. Vernon Edwards has received re-ceived word from her son, Wayne Jenkins, who is serving in the U. S. Navy, that he was at Hungnam. Korea. George Dodge and his two daughters came from Provo, Friday. Mr. Dodge attended to his property interests here, while the girls enjoyed visiting their former school mates and were members of a jolly skating skat-ing party. Pfc. John Jennings left Wednesday Wed-nesday to return to Chanute Air Field. 111., after a short furlough fur-lough here to visit his father, W. A. Jennings. John is in training as an airplane mechan ic. ! Max Robinson and Louis Uresk left Friday for Denver, Colo., where Max is employed, after spending the Christmas holidays wtih their parents. Louis Lou-is continued on from Denver to Chicago, 111., where he is attending at-tending the Northwestern Dental Den-tal college. Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Cooper and small son, of Salt Lake City were New Year week-end visitois at the home of his father, Lee Cooper. They also visited at the home of Mrs. Cooper's sister, Mrs. Wesley Jenson. Venice Fowler returned Saturday Sat-urday to Pleasant Grove to resume re-sume her studies, after spending1 spend-ing1 the holidays here with her father, Earl Fowler, and family. fam-ily. Mr. Fowler and son and daughter, Francis and Rayma, and Mrs. Grace Brewer and I children accompanied her to spend New Year's in Provo, Orem and Pleasant Grove. Viola Vi-ola Mott also accompanied her for a brief visit during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Madsen and sons spent the New Year's week-end visiting relatives in Provo and Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Haskill came from Sahara Village to spend New Year's with Mrs. Hasckell's father, J. W. Jenson. Wilda Fay Robinson and Howard How-ard Funk, students at Wasatch Academy, who have been home for the Christmas vacation, left Monday to resume their studies in Mt. Pleasant. Allen Todd was host at a skating party Monday, with Karl Jones as a special guest. The jolly group of youngsters enjoyed toasting marshmallows over a camp fire near their skating rink. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Jones and children came from Richfield Rich-field to visit relatives and friends in Myton and Roosevelt during the New Year week-end. The children enjoyed visiting-their visiting-their former school mates while here. Frances Funk, Lowell Bab-cock Bab-cock and Nina Babcock, who were home for the Christmas vacation, left Tuesday to return re-turn to Logan, where they are attending the U.S.A.C. |
