Show M.I.A. Class Has Christinas Party The Stake M.I.A. Special Interest In-terest group entertained at a Christmas dance Monday night, Dec. 25. A record crowd from all the wards of the Moon Lake-Stake Lake-Stake attended and danced both old-time and modern dances to the Thacker music. Mrs. R. C. Snyder, of Myton, visited one day last week with Mrs. Floyd Case. Cecil Wall visited relatives in Evanston, Wyoming-, last week. Parker and Theil Gomm made a business trip to Star Valley, Wyo., during the past week. The Gomms reside in Wyoming during dur-ing the summer, making their home here the remainder of the year, while Mr. and Mrs. Ben. C. Gomm, parents of Parker Park-er and Theil, teach seminary and second grade, respectively. Miss Deane Case was employed em-ployed in the office of the R.E.A. during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Clegg, of Salt Lake spent part of the holidays here with Mrs. Clegg's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar i Miles. Mr. and Mrs. David Orr and 1 three children, of Nyssa, Ore-1 gon, spent the past week with David's brother and sister-in-law, Mr', and Mrs. Leslie J. Orr, and with his mother, Mrs. Jennie Jen-nie Orr. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Allen, care takers of the R.E.A. plant on Yellowstone, spent six days test week, including Christmas, in Elko, Nevada, with their daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mohlman. During their absence, ab-sence, Mr. and Mrs. Martin His-lop His-lop and boys stayed at the plant. On Thursday the Hislops went to Helper to spend New Years with relatives. The Stake M.I.A. presided at a holiday dance, Friday, at the ward house. Music was furn-1 furn-1 ished by the Duchesne orches-jtra. orches-jtra. In charge of the successful 'affair were Farrell Mohlman and Mrs. Adaline Anderson. Glen Womack and Vearl Has-lem, Has-lem, who are attending B.Y.U. at Provo, spent the Christmas holidays at home. Arvin Bellon and Junior Betts visited at the homes of the L.D.S. elders of the ward during the week. Clarence Betts, who is working work-ing in Salt Lake City, spent Christmas and New Years with his family. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Kettle accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Max Gardner, of Roosevelt, to Moab on Sunday to visit at the home of the Kettle's daughter, Mrs. Elsie Secrest. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Allred recent newlyweds, visited at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Allred and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Allred on their way to Camp Carson, Colo., where J. R. is stationed. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson John-son entertained Mr. and Mrs Russel Todd, Keith and JoAnn and Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Mohlman Mohl-man and their two children of Altamont, at a Christmas dinner. din-ner. Mrs. Pearl Jenkins is the proud great-grandmother of a baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs Charles Walquist. of Randlett, this week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hills and son, Edwin, of Nampa, Idaho spent Christmas at the home of Mrs. Hill's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Sursher, at Alterra. Mr. Hills left for California while Mrs. Hills remained with her parents. Pvt. William K Sursher, who is stationed at Camp Pendleten, Oceanside Calif., has also been spending the holidays with his parents Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Sursher ' Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butcher entertained at a Christmas dinner din-ner for Mr. and Mrs. James Butcher and sons, Mr. and Mrs Lyle Butcher and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Baumgaertel and family, of Roosevelt, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gillespie and family, of Loma, Colo., also sons, Ottis and Perry. |
