Show 4-H National Honors for Utah Girls THREE 4-H members from Logan, Springville nnd Provo were honored hon-ored at the 29th National 4-H Club Congress Jield recently in Chicago Chi-cago for being chosen national winners in their projects. Carolyn Anne Younker Jit ' SJ!i..& Ann Patrick Carolyn Anne Younker, 16, of Logan, was given a $300 college scholarship from General Motors for doing an outstanding job in the Farm and Home Safety program. pro-gram. For three years, ahe was awarded sterling Silver safety medals for carrying out the best project in Cache County, She also shared honors when her 4-H Club won a safety plaque and savings bond for its achievements. Carolyn Caro-lyn Anne has shown safety films to nearly 1,400 people, and has given numerous speeches, radio programs and safety skits. Making her own clothes and sewing for members of her family fam-ily have brought national recognition recog-nition and a $300 scholarship to (1 s Mary Miller Ann Patrick, 17, of Springville, from the Spool Cotton Co., donor of awards in the 4-H Clothing project. Ann has made, mended, or altered some 160 garments during dur-ing the past six years, according to her record, and has shown remarkable re-markable skill in selecting patterns pat-terns and fabrics. Mary Miller, 16, of Provo, won national honors in the 4-H Health Improvement program and a $100 savings bond from the Kellogg Co., of Battle Creek, after practicing practic-ing good health habits during the past five years. By having periodic peri-odic examinations, Mary keeps physically fit a factor doubly important since she's been taking care of her bedridden mother.
