Show Farmers' Familiy Night Brings 300 To Meetings The Farmers' Family night rally held last Saturday evening at the Roosevelt Junior High School, sponsored by the local chapter of Farmers Union, was . declared a very definite success by those in charge. Approximately 300 men, women and children joined in the various activities and were given a chili supper. New officers for the Basin chapter were elected. "Boosting for the Upper Colorado Col-orado River Development Project" was the theme of the rally. Speakers heard were C. E. Huff, Denver, manager of Farmers Farm-ers Union Insurance, and Wilmer B. Robins, manager of Utah Cooperatives Co-operatives of Salt Lake City. The children who came with their parents were entertained with special movies, games and dancing. Howard Roberts, Pleasant Valley Val-ley farmers, was elected as president presi-dent of the Uintah Basin chapter of Farmers Union, with Charles Crozier, Neola, vice-president, and Charles Edwards, Roosevelt, secretary-treasurer. Twenty delegates to the state convention on March 4 and 5 were chosen. |
