Show THREE-YEAR-OLD HAS BIRTHDAY PARTY Little Elizabeth Ann Wogec, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wogec, celebrated her third birthday birth-day Monday afternoon at her , home, when fourteen tots were I invited for the occasion. The white birthday cake was trimmed with blue candles and a blue "Happy Birthday." . Each guest received a balloon and a whistle as favors. Party re-! re-! freshments and games kept the -small fry busy during the party hours. SOCIETY OF FRIENDS On Wednesday, Feb. 16, the Society So-ciety of Friends Club met with their hostess, Mrs.- Irvin Miles. Games were played and light refreshments re-freshments served to the six in attendance. The club surprised Mrs. Miles with a personal shower. Mrs. Burr Eldredge and children chil-dren are leaving next weekend for Shrewsbury, Mass., where she will visit until the first part of April with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kanecht. Mrs. Lizzie Billings, of Springville, Spring-ville, and daughter, Mrs. Ervin Day and baby son, David, of Vernal, Ver-nal, spent Monday visiting at the home of Mrs. and . Mrs. George Taylor.' Mrs. Earl Dillman and children returned last Friday from Salt Lake City after spending two weeks with Mrs. Dillman's parents. par-ents. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Jordan returned re-turned Monday from Salt Lake City after spending ten days with their daughter, Joyce, who is attending at-tending the University. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Leavitt and family returned this week from a trip to Las Vegas, where they visited Mr. Leavitt's parents and other relatives. His father has been ill in a Las Vegas hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrison and family spent last weekend in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Paul Stringham was a Salt Lake City visitor Wednesday and Thursday. She went by plane from Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppel were Salt Lake City and Mt. Pleasant Plea-sant visitors from Thursday to Sunday, visiting in Mt. Pleasant with Dick, who is attending Was-! Was-! atch Academy, and in Spanish Fork with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss 'returned 're-turned Tuesday after spending a week in Salt Lake City. L4rr" FRESTONS RETURN FROM MONTH'S TRIP Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Freston returned re-turned last week from Tucson Arizona after enjoying a month's vacation with their two daughters Mrs. Norman Clark and Mrs. Coy Durphy and families. They also visited with Mrs. Freston's sister Mrs. Leland E. Killpack, and her niece, Mrs. Howard Sebring, and families. Mrs. Freston stated that one of the highlights of the trip was the opportunity to witness the nationally nation-ally televized Horace Heidt talent show broadcast from the auditorium auditor-ium of the University of Arizona Especially interesting to Mr Freston was the Javalina (wild pig) hunt in the Catalina Mountains, Moun-tains, which he participated in. ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES IN OREM Relatives and friends attending the funeral service of .TnciaV, d Rudy at Orem, held in the First ward chapel last Monday, were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gardner and family, Delmar Gardner Gard-ner and daughter, Marion; Mr. and Mrs. John A. Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Long and family Mrs. Valoy Morrill, Mr. and Mrs' Orvil Rudy and daughter, Martha-Mr. Martha-Mr. and Mrs. Czar Rudy, and Mr! and Mrs. Kip Merkley, of Duchesne. Du-chesne. PINK AND BLUE SHOWER Mrs. Glade Richardson was honored hon-ored at a pink and blue shower last Friday at the home of Mrs. Gordon Womack. Enjoyable games were played, with each guest receiving re-ceiving a prize. Tasty refreshments were served to the following: Mrs. Bon Nielson, Mrs. Darwood Campbell, Mrs. Ken Davis, Mrs. Bob Miles, Mrs. Irvin Miles, Mrs. Harold Bolte, Mrs. Evan Goodrich, Mrs. Vic Mitchell and the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Pulos returned re-turned to Roosevelt Tuesday. Mr. Pulos recently received his release from the U. S. armed service after af-ter serving two years. Their future fu-ture plans are indefinite. Ervil and Seth Asay were St George visitors over the weekend, where they went to get their mother, whose home is in Salt Lake City. |
