' ' " H '- , .- . ;.. . s. s. f- "; . ; ' : LARRY BIGELOW A 3c Larry Jay Bigelow, son of Mr. and Mr. Charles Bigelow of Lapoint, is assigned to Amar-illo Amar-illo A.F.B., Texas, as a student of medium Jet Bombers, according accord-ing to a recent announcement by Brig. Gen. Walter R. Agee, Base Commander. Airman Bigelow was transferred to Amarillo from Parks A.F.B., Calif., Jan 19th. He spent a ten day furlough home during this recent transfer. He graduated from Union High School with the class of '54 and soon after enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. Often referred to as the Air Training Command's "model" base, Amarillo A.F.B. is the nation's only training center devoted exclusively ex-clusively to the training of jet fighter and bomber mechanics. A 3c Bigelow is scheduled to graduate from the school May 19. FLOYD V. WEEKS FORT ORD Calif. Army Cpl. Floyd V. Weeks, 22, whose wife, Vivian, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weeks, live in Altonah, Utah, is scheduled to participate in Exercise Surb Board along the western coast of the United States March 21 - 26. During the joint Army - Navy maneuvers Weeks' unit, the 38th Regimental Combat team, will at tack an underground "Aggressor" guided-missle installation in the Santa Lucia mountains. An amphibious am-phibious landing from Naval surface sur-face craft will be made on San Simeon beaches. Weeks is a driver in Battery C of the team's 12th Field Artillery Artil-lery Battalion, regularly stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. He has been in the Army since May, 1953. |
