A letter was received from Douglas Phillips who is serving on a mission in Mexico, that on April 1 he will be at the Immigration Immi-gration station on the Texas-Mexican border to sign up, accounting for his presence in Mexico. Visitors at Sacrament meeting Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson, of Ioka, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hartle of Lapoint. They were there to witness the christening christen-ing of the wee son on Mr. and Mrs. Dale Nelson of Roosevelt. Kenneth blessed and gave him the name of Paul. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson. Mrs. Rav Parnell was christened by L. Garr Bolton and given the name of Larry. Sandra Lee Bowen. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bowen, and Houston Parnell were baptized Saturday evening at Roosevelt and confirmed at . Sacrament meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Houston returned re-turned Saturday from a 10 day visit in Los Angeles. They were guests at a birthday party given at Placential, Calif., where 31 relatives rel-atives gathered at the home of Mr. Houston's sister, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd O'Daniel. Bishop James E. Hamblin, of Montwel, is in a hospital at Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Haslem Has-lem are in Montwel taking care of the chores and family in the absence of Bishop and Mrs. Haslem. Has-lem. Mrs. Delma Long and daughter, Lorraine, attended the stake Mia Maid program and tea, given at the Union Seminary Tuesday evening. eve-ning. Lorraine is the only Mia Maid in Bennett and attends Mutual Mu-tual at Ballard. Three wards participated par-ticipated in the program. BIRTHDAY SURPRISE Winfred Long said, "Now don't you tell it's my birthday," so everyone kept still, but definitely did something about it by way of a family dinner. Mrs. Blaine Morrell, a daughter of Tridell, baked the cake. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Young of Springville, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wardle of Orem, motored out to help surprise sur-prise him and enjoy the lovely dinner prepared by Mrs. Long. Frances Ann Coltharp, a second grade student at the Roosevelt Elementary school, invited both her grandmothers. Mrs. Frances Bowen and Mrs. W. H. Coltharp, to attend a Spring' program at the school. Little Kathryn Coltharp is visiting visit-ing her grandmother, Mrs. Frances Bowen, this week, while her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coltharp are in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Shirwood Butter-field Butter-field entertained her mother, Mrs. Frances Bowen, Saturday evening at Harrimon, at a dinner party honoring her birthday, after which they motored to Spanish Fork to the .
