There was a lyceum at Alterra school last Thursday morning, "Modern Miracles of Magic and Puppetry," with the magician, Shahlar. It was really enjoyed by the students. Quite a few of the Mia Maids and mothers went to Roosevelt Tuesday evening, March 22 to go to "Dear To My Heart." The girls sang the song, "O Rose," led by Mrs. Jesse Hullinger. Mrs. Effie Winn, Mrs. Earl Gardner Gard-ner and son, Gary, went to Vernal Ver-nal last Wednesday to visit with Mrs. Winn's sister, Mrs. Delia Mc-Kowen. Mc-Kowen. Several of the ward MIA officers offi-cers and Mrs. Ned Gines, a stake worker, attended the 4-stake MIA convention at Vernal, Saturday afternoon af-ternoon and evening. MOVE TO RANDLETT TO TAKE OVER MISSION Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd have moved to Randlett, where they will reside in the Indian chapel, while they are laboring as missionaries mission-aries with the Indians. They will be missed in the Ballard ward very much, having lived here since the ward was organized. Mrs. Todd was secretary in Relief Society So-ciety when she was called on this mission. We wish them success in their missionary work. Wilson Gutzman, of Ft. Du- . chesne, who is a counselor in the Roosevelt stake Genealogy committee, com-mittee, was a visitor at Sunday ! School and Fast meeting, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Stolla and family are living at Ontario, Calif., where Gerhard is in business. Rob-J Rob-J ert Stolla, who is employed near , there, makes his home with his brother and family. Miss' Jane Hyde, who is a student stu-dent at the University of Utah, spent the weekend at the home I of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jeppson. Mrs. Tilintha Rasmussen attended attend-ed the two-hour training course for. Guide Patrol leaders held at Roosevelt recently. Carma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alden White, spent last week end at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bur-nell Bur-nell Buchanan at Altamont. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stanley and two small daughters returned Saturday Sat-urday from their vacation trip. They spent most of the time with Glen's parents, Mr. andMrs. Lloyd Stanley, at Clairmont, Calif. Quite a few of the parents from the ward attended the Cub Scout meeting held at Roosevelt last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle were chosen as Den . Mother and Dad of the ward. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson' and family, of Provo, were weekend week-end visitors in Ballard. This is Mrs. Johnson's first trip back since moving to Provo last fall. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Todd, now of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend week-end with home folks in Roosevelt Roose-velt and Ballard. We congratulate our mail carrier, car-rier, Harold Sprouse, and his' wife oh the arrival of their first son, born last week. PRIMARY GIVES PROGRAM Ballard Primary conference with the theme, "Wist Ye Not That I Be About My Father's Business," was presented Sunday evening to a large audience. Every child in the Primary took part. The program pro-gram was a success. Stake Primary Pri-mary visitor was La Veil Schaefer-meyer, Schaefer-meyer, of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire and sons, Lyle and DeLoy, went to Salt Lake City to attend the wedding wed-ding and reception of their daughter daugh-ter and sister, Beverly Squire, and Kirk Allred. The Allreds will make their home in Salt Lake City. |
