Show Bertha Angus Violet Gentry Bread Making Is Demonstrated A demonstration on making breads was held at the home of Mrs. Deloris Zobell, Wednesday, directed by the home demonstration demonstra-tion agent, Mary Lois Reichert. Those who enjoyed the demonstration demon-stration as well as eating the bread and sweet rolls were Edna Drollinger, Ellen Timothy, Margaret Mar-garet Lloyd, Dean Lloyd, Verna Foote, Velma Dart, Gladys Drollinger, Drol-linger, Eliza Benson, Thelma Rob-ison. Rob-ison. Francis Lloyd, Etta Webb, and Zelma Lloyd. While together they organized a club, with Verna Foote, president; Zelma Lloyd, vice-president and Velma Dart, secretary. There is yet to be a name chosen and the next meeting will be April 27. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Russon, of Roosevelt, were dinner guests of Mrs. Russon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Lemon, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson were guests at dinner of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hall at Leeton, Sunday. They also attended meeting where they saw their granddaughter, the infant baby girl of Mr. , and Mrs. Dale Nelson, blessed and given the name of Paula. Mr. and Mrs. James Lloyd and Dean Lloyd went to Mt. Emmons, Sunday, to visit Mr. .and Mrs. Ed Crosby. Mrs. Crosby and Mr. Lloyd are brother and sister. S C S MEETING Friday, a Soil Conservation meeting was held at the home of Reed Lemon, by Howard Ivory, of Springville and Wodrow Nelson of Roosevelt. Those present were James Lemon, Tuff Reay, Bradley Cloward and Reed Lemon. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lloyd went to' Heber, Saturday afternoon to attend the funeral of Vernor Baird Sunday. They returned home after the funeral Sunday. PRIMARY CONFERENCE Primary conference was held Sunday night. It was conducted by the Primary presidency. The theme of the conference was: "Wist Ye Not That I Should Be About My Father's Business." A beautiful program was carried out by the Primary children, with Mrs. Dona Dye and Mrs. Mary Hacking of the stake Primary board visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lemon and daughter, Ila Vay, Bishop James Lemon and daughter; Marcia, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Percival and son, Alton D., attended the Jr. High School band concert held in Roosevelt, Wednesday night. Ila Vay, Marcia and Alton D. are members of the band. Silvan Richins and John Percival Perci-val attended the banquet at the Frontier Grill Saturday night, given giv-en for the boys who were members mem-bers of the basketball team at Union High. THURSDAY CLUB Mrs. Thomas Gentry entertained the Thursday Club this week. Af- ter a pleasant afternoon, a delicious de-licious lunch was served to the following members: Olive Soren-son, Soren-son, Gladys Dart, Mattie Morten-sen, Morten-sen, Lucy Edwards, Berniece Hou-eter, Hou-eter, Sarah Brokaw and the hostess, hos-tess, Edith Gentry. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Sorenson and girls, of Roosevelt, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Larsen, of Arcadia, visited Sunday with Mrs. Olive Sorenson. Louise Gentry came in Saturday Satur-day from Mt. Pleasant to spend the spring vacation with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gentry. Gen-try. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Washburn spent Thursday afternoon in Vernal Ver-nal on business. Mr. and Mrs. Senor Mortensen are rejoicing over a new grandson, grand-son, born last week to Mr. and Mrs. Senor Mortensen, Jr. W. G. Gentry was car riding in Ioka Sunday. He broke his leg Jan. 12. Sally Sweat spent the weekend with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nelson, while her folks went to Salt Lake. BEEHIVE PARTY The Beehive girls, under the direction di-rection of their leader, Zelma Lloyd, gave a party Tuesday night in Mutual as a farewell for Karen Lamb, who was moving away, and to welcome Kathy Reay into their class. Mr. and Mrs. Glendon Lamb and family moved to Bridgeland Friday. Fri-day. They have lived here the past year and we are sorry to have them leave us. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Nelson went to Salt Lake City Saturday. Mrs. Enid Nelson cared for their two children while they were gone. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lloyd, of Roosevelt, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Doyl Lloyd, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lemon, of Roosevelt, were visitors of Keith's parents, Saturday. |
