Show school naus ROOSEVELT JUNIOR HIGH At 12:30 o'clock, March 3, the Altamont ninth graders arrived at the Jr. High School to enjoy an afternoon of fun with R.J.H.S.'s j ninth graders. To begin the afternoon, the girls played a basketball game, which was followed by a boys' basketball game. We won both games. Orange punch and cookies were served to the hungry students, after af-ter which they enjoyed a matinee dance. The Altamont students left at 2:45. Before Altamont arrived, the committee in charge of the afternoon after-noon was busy arranging dances. Each Roosevelt girl danced with two Altamont boys, and each Roosevelt boy danced with two Altamont girls. By Laura Fredrickson If you stayed after school Friday night, March 4, you probably smelled the delicious aroma of food being cooked in the Home Ec. department. The Press Club girls were cooking the food for their party. j Food Pizza Pie, Spanish Noodle Dish, Spring Salad, Shrimp Cock-, tail, Hot Rolls, and Orange Punch were enjoyed that evening by the Press Club members. Ice cream and two kinds of cake topped off the dinenr. After dinner, a short program was presented, revealing hidden talent. Homer Cook was M.C. By Ann Murphy April 29 is set aside for the Girls' Day Dance. "Blue Moon" has been selected as the theme song. The gym will be decorated in silver and different hues of blue. Our school sponsored a band concert recently at the Elementary Elemen-tary School, under the direction of Lawrence Lee, band instructor. Proceeds will be used to purchase more band suits. ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY For the assembly program Friday, Fri-day, Mrs. Root's second grade produced pro-duced the operetta "Spring Glow." The children did their parts well and their costumes were lovely. An operetta "In the Land of Dreams Come True," was presented pre-sented by Mrs. Mitchell's second grade. Friday, March 25, at the Roosevelt Elementary School. The children performed very well and the costumes were lovely and colorful.
