Show Tivo Niglrf Rodeos Are Added To '55 County Fair Miss Duchesne Contest Chairman Named Two night rodeos on Friday and Saturday and the Miss Duchesne County contest on Thursday will take care of the night programs which are being planned for the annual Duchesne County Fair, scheduled for Sept. 1, 2 and 3. According to W. E. Foy and Var Rosenbaum, co-chairmen of the board, plans are moving along at a satisfactory pace toward a successful county fair. "The main thing we need at this point and along the way until fair time, is more cooperation of farmers., housewives, livestock producers,-, dairymen, and all' who can supply-entries supply-entries that will insure the success suc-cess of the fair," the two chairmen chair-men said, following a meeting at: the Roosevelt Junior. High School last Friday. This is the first meeting of the board this year at Roosevelt. Co-sponsoring the rodeo will be the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Riding Club, who will supply sup-ply stock, riders, etc. and run the show each night. Receipts will be split on a percentage basis. Saturday calls for a parade at 1:30, followed by kids' sports and horse racing and the horseshow. An attempt to bring in some out-side out-side talent is being considered that will supplement the rodeo and other entertainment features. An entrance blank is being printed in this newspaper for the next few weeks for the convenience of those desiring de-siring to enter. Deadline entry date is Aug. 14. Community chairmen named to assist with the contest are listed as follows: Duchesne, Mrs. Arnold Robbins; Neola, Mrs. Joe Duncan; Bluebell, Mrs. Lucille Winkler; Altonah, Mrs. Linford Maxfield; Altamont, Mrs. Kenneth Bearden; Boneta, Mrs. Sherman Swasey; Mt. Home, Mrs. Rue Miles; Tab-iona, Tab-iona, Mrs. Elwin Carter; Arcadia, Mrs. Hale Holgate; Bridgeland, Mrs. Shelby Lisonbee; Ioka, Mrs. Otto Lloyd; and Myton, Mrs. Rex Lamb. Girls in the above mentioned communities wishing to enter the contest are asked to contact the chairman in their town. Next meeting of the board will be at the Duchesne county courthouse, court-house, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m. |
