Endeavoring to do justice to the play will be a cast composed of Carma Winterton, Erma El-dredge, El-dredge, George W. Hightower, Cal Wilkins, George Stewart, Randall Stewart, Bod Andrews, Mattie Edwards, Ed-wards, Fred Gagon, Mrs. Fred Fer-ron, Fer-ron, Janet Stevens, Janice Ander-ton, Ander-ton, Maxine Hurley, Glenda Walker, Walk-er, Mary Murphy, Elaine McKen-na, McKen-na, Melba Benson and Betty Jo Sprouse as accompanist. Marriage rites were performed July 17 in Elko, with Bishop Bell officiating. 10 YEARS AGO Catherine Wogec, Seaman 1-C, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wogec, returned to her base Wednesday Wed-nesday at Oakland, Calif., after spending the past two weeks here with relatives- Catherine has been in the WAVES a year this July and is doing clerical work at the Navy Air Field at Oakland. Don Penfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Penfield, and Junior Hicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hamilton, left Friday night for San Diego, where they will begin their "boot" training in the U. S. Navy reserve. Both boys graduat- ed from the Roosevelt High School last May. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Nixon and I Mr. and Mrs. Ray E. DilJman spent the weekend and the 24th at Jacob's Lake. They were the guests of Mr. Nixon's sister, who owns the lodge at Jacob's Lake. They returned home Wednesday. Miss Dorthy Dillman, who has been visiting in Pocatello for a few .weeks, returned home Saturday. Satur-day. She visited in Idaho Falls and Rexburg while on her trip. 20 YEARS AGO 1 The Associated Civic Clubs organization or-ganization of Eastern Utah headed by its president, Fred C. Ferron, held a very enthusiastic road meeting in the LDS chapel at Roosevelt last Thursday evening. P. L. Patry of Roosevelt, who has been visiting in Provo at the home of a daughter, Mrs. M. E. Curtis, attended the pre-hike ceremonies cere-monies prior to the Timpanogas Hike, and although eilghty-nine years old, made the strenuous hike. He was awarded the Timpanogas Timp-anogas hike stick for being the oldest man to make the climb. Mr. and Mrs.. Ted Harmston, Miss Veda ' and Elda Goodrich spent the 24th in Salt Lake City attending the Covered Wagon Days celebration. Utah's first F.F.A. chapter home will be located in Roosevelt, and according to Instructor Walter E. Atwood, the home will be com'-pleted com'-pleted in time for the opening of the 1935-36 school year. The Uintah Basin Industrial Convention general committee's dance will be held at Fort Duchesne, Du-chesne, , August 2nd this year. Good music is on the program and everyone should be assured of a good time. |
