Show SCS & PMA Join To Improve ' Service In Basin A recent reassignment of responsibilities re-sponsibilities within the Department Depart-ment of Agriculture has made it possible for local P.M. A. and Soil Conservation Service officials of-ficials to work closer together. Effective immediately, the Soil Conservation Service will be responsible for approving the installation of all permanent type conservation practices. P. M.A. will continue to allocate funds to participating farmers and ranchers and to certify all recurring or non-permanent practices. Farmers that have signed up in the 1951 ACP program and have already received approvals should get their jobs completed before the expiration date. In many cases this is June 1 or 15. Farmers needing assistance on land leveling or reservoirs should contact Soil Conservation Service personnel at Roosevelt, Vernal or Duchesne several days in advance of the time they are ready to do the job so that surveys sur-veys and plans can be made. |
