Show United States In Song And Dance Presented America's tradition of song and dance was beautifully portrayed por-trayed at the Roosevelt elementary elemen-tary school last Wednesday afternoon af-ternoon and Thursday evening, when the theme of "Song and Dance of the United States" was depicted from 1750 to 1950 by the 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The presentation, which was an original theme, composed by Mrs. Ruth Fredrickson, commenced com-menced with the "Minuet" and was followed by scenes from the "Gay Nineties," "Negroes1 "Gold Rush," "World War I," "Fabulous Twenties," World War II," and climaxed by "United "Unit-ed Nations." General director for the event was Mrs. Evelyn Schmiett; conductor con-ductor Mrs. Ann Buchanan; costumes, cos-tumes, Mrs. Veda Jensen. Mrs. Ella Nyberg and Miss Dicia Emert; and staging? and programs, pro-grams, Daren Young and John Blaine. ... The faculty members wish to express their appreciation to the parents for their attendance and wonderful cooperation in making mak-ing the costumes, which were outstanding and added much to the production. |
