Show Ellen Bracken Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Pearce, of Salt Lake City, have i been recent visitors at the home 1 of Mrs. Pearce's son, Wendcl Johnson. Ballard senior students at Al-terra Al-terra high school enjoyed the senior trip to Uintah conyon, Monday, May 7. They finished up the day of frolic roller skating skat-ing at Victory Park. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peck made a trip to Salt Lake City last week. Mr. Peck's mother came back with them to visit at her son's home. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch visited vis-ited at the home of Mr. Hatch's mother, Mrs. Zina Murray, at Jensen, Sunday. Mr: and Mrs. Ernest Betts and Mrs. Golden Collins spent Friday Fri-day and Saturday in Salt Lake City. Miss Myrtle Collins, who has been attending the L.D.S. Business college during the past winter, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd attended at-tended a farewell party at Whiterocks Friday evening for Bishop Preston Atwood. Squire Mangum entertained her Primary class and their mothers at a party in Primary on May 8. George Thatcher motored to Orem to spend the week-end with his family. Mrs. Vern Allred, of Ogden, has been visiting at the homes of her sons, Glen and Jack. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Swisher made a trip to Idaho last week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Norton, of Ogden, formerly of Lapoint, have moved into the house previously pre-viously eeeupied by Mv- and Mrs. Aaron Beckstead. Bernard Larsen took the Roosevelt Roos-evelt seminary students to Salt Lake City last week-end. Mrs. Larsen and daughter, Mary Ann, accompanied him. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young, of Mt. Emmons, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham, Bing-ham, Wednesday. A splendid program was presented pre-sented at Sunday school for the mothers. It consisted of talks by Lorraine Hullinger, Larry Larsen, Lar-sen, JoAnn Angus, Marie El-dredge El-dredge and Allen Glnes: solo. "That Wonderful Mother of Mine," by Earl Gardner, accompanied accom-panied by Jo Ann Todd; solo, "Mother McCrea," by LeRoy Anderson. Booklets were presented pre-sented to about forty mothers Mr. and Mrs. Bart Merkley, of Vernal, visited Sunday School this week, and , spent Mother's Day with their daughter, Mrs. Cecil Jenkins, and family. Mrs. Clarence Betts was a Salt Lake visitor last week. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Matin, of Vernal, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson last week. Visitors at the Anderson Ander-son home on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Harden Labrum and family, of Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Geddes and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Christen-son, Christen-son, of Preston, Idaho, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger on Friday of last week. They were on their return trip from Old Mexico, where they had met a son who had just been released from an L.D. S. mission. They visited all through the Southwest and Texas-Louisiana missions. Mr. and Mrs. Nile Ainge, of Jensen, have been recent visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Butchej. Cloyd Wiscombe accompanied Glen Allred to Salt Lake City last Saturday' to participate in a track meet. The Ballard school enjoyed a trip to the fish hatchery, the power plant, and big park in Uintah canyon Friday. They were accompanied by all of the teachers and by Howard Ivory, of Roosevelt, and Mr. Walkupi the forest ranger from White-rocks. Mr. and Mrs. Merrell Brim-hall, Brim-hall, from Provo, spent Mother's Day at the home of Mrs. Brim-hall's Brim-hall's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger. Lorraine Hullinger, Hul-linger, a student at the B.Y.U., was also at home. Mrs. LaRue Pickup and daughter, daugh-ter, Velma, of Randlett, called on Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston Saturday. The members of the Aaronic priesthood and some of the father fath-er attended the outing in Uintah Uin-tah canyon for the Roosevelt stake on Saturday, May 12. A good percentage of the Ballard ward membership was irj fitr tendance. Mrs. Effie Winn, mother of Mrs. Earl Gardner, was rushed to a doctor in Vernal on May 7. Later in the week she was tak- en to the Vernal hospital, and at this writing is reported very ill. We wish her a speedy recovery. re-covery. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Shisler visited in Vernal Sunday. Mrs. Jack Cook entertained their neighbors at a community party at the John Cook home (Friday evening in honor of Ralph Betts. Ralph left for Fort Douglas May 14 for induction in the army. |
