Show BASIN BRIEFS Mrs. Thomas R. Todd has just returned from a week's visit at Logan with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Walker, who are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Nov. 21. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser spent the weekend in Salt Lake City, where they' visited their son, W. D. Orsex, and his faimly, and Mrs. Orser's sister, Mrs. George Parker. Robert Andrews returned Sunday Sun-day from a short visit in Provo. Mrs. Pearl Swain returned Sunday after a ten-day visit with relatives in Ogdcn, Salt Lake City and Provo. Correction: 30 cases of canned fruits and vegetables were forwarded for-warded to the LDS Children's hospital, not 30 pounds as previously pre-viously reported. The shipment which also included 200 pounds potatoes, 100 pounds carrots, and 2 turkeys were donated by the wards of the Roosevelt Stake and were not purchased with pennies donated by the children. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Allen, of Pleasant Valley, visited in Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, Friday. They will leave the forepart of next week to spend the winter in California. Marvell Nielsen made a busi- j ncss trip to Salt Lake City the ' forepart of the week. Mary Beecroft, of the Shurt-leff Shurt-leff Hotel, returned to Roosevelt Tuesday night after spending 10 days in St. Louis. Mary, who has always been anxious to see the Ozarks, made a side trip to the Missouri hill country before returning re-turning home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary D. Lisonbec West, of Mt. Home, who died Wednesday at 1:30 a. m. in the Spanish Fork hospital, will be held Saturday at 1 p. m. at Mt. Emmons. The bus schedule for busses traveling west out of Roosevelt has been changed as follows: I Leaving for Salt Lake City 3:32 a. m 10:52 a. m. and 8:07 p. m. No change has been made for east bound busses. The employment office will be open to service the Uintah Basin at the following places on the following days: Duchesne, 1st and 2nd Tuesdays of each month, 11 a. m. to 2 p. m.; Roosevelt, every Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a. m. to 3 p. m.; Vernal, every day, 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. The Roosevelt post office, in order to accomodate postal patrons pat-rons during the Christmas mailing mail-ing season, will remain open every day, except Sundays, from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m., Saturdays included. in-cluded. V. A. Bair tendered his resignation resig-nation as a school board member mem-ber to the Duchesne County Board of Education, December 8. Mr. Bair's resignation was accepted ac-cepted and he was relieved of his duties December 9. A successor suc-cessor has not yet been appointed. |
