Show SOCIETY" Peggy Oldroyd, Society Reporter CANDY PULL Miss Elma Obcrhansly was hostess to a group of friends at a candy pull at the Elmer El-dredge El-dredge residence Friday evering, August 12. Participating in the evening's gaiety were Shirley Angus, Max-ine Max-ine Gardner, Colleen Alexander, Mac Zimmerman, Arden Sullivan, Sulli-van, Don Sprouse and Ralph Hanson'. PARTY HONORS VISITORS Mrs. Bennie Schmiett entertained enter-tained Wednesday morning, August Aug-ust 17, at the Ashton cabin in Uintah canyon honoring Mrs. John Mohlman and Mrs. Glenn Miller, who are visiting in Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. Bridge during the morning, was followed by a delicious chicken dinner served at high noon, with places marked for nine guests. Bridge prizes were won by Mrs. Howard Harrison and Mrs. Robert Huish. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Members of Neighborhood Sewing club were delightfully entertained Wednesday evening, August 10, at the home of Mis. Stanley Hall, Six guests participated in an evening of sewing and enjoyed a prettily appointed dessert luncheon. THOUGHT AND THIMBLE Mrs. Elroy Wilkins was hostess host-ess to members of Thought and Thimble club at her home Thursday Thurs-day evening, August 8. A delicious deli-cious luncheon was served with covers laid for six members and one club guest. JUST-A-MERE It was a tempting1 dessert luncheon and an evening of bridge when Mrs. Grant Killian entertained thirteen members and guests of her bridge clijb at her homo on July 28. Prizes were won by Mrs. Leo Hatch, Mrs. Ted Jensen and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Adams. ENTERTAINS FRIENDS Among those who entertained during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Page who were hosts to a group of friends at their home Saturday evening, August 13, in compliment to their weekend guest. Miss Genevieve Gen-evieve Tree, of Salt Lake City. A series of games, followed by a delicious supper, was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Colton, Mr. and Mrs. John Pag;c, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Rae Scholes and Miss Tree. B P W Rated as the week's cleverest social affair was the garden party par-ty Wednesday evening ot the Lynn Orser residence for members mem-bers of the Business and Professional Profes-sional Women's club. Digressing from the usual B P W function, Wednesday's party provided an hilarious note when all members and guests appeared in comic hats of diverse shape and hue. A delicious chicken dinner, served buffet style on the spacious spa-cious lawn surrounding- the patio, was enjoyed by thirty-six members mem-bers and guests. Brightly colored lights and the soft glow of an open fire added further beauty to the setting. Various skits were presented during the evening, under the direction of Mrs. Myrtle Lambert, Lam-bert, program chairman. Top rating went to Mrs. Homer P.) Edward's group for their presen tation of "My Darling Clementine," Clemen-tine," with Mrs. Norman Murphy, Mur-phy, Dr. Lurrine Miles. Mrs. Evan Phillips, Mrs. Clair Ashton ' and Mrs. George Harrison as the cast. Mrs. Myrtle Lambert, Mrs. Lynn Orser, Mrs. Jack Stenberg, Mrs. Dayl Webb and Miss Rita Hutcheon were in charge of arrangements. |
