Show Kentuckians Get Stiff Sentences For Robbery Prison sentences of from 5 years to life, were given to Billy Jo Pedigo, 19, and Billy Bob Smith, 2Q. both of Glasgow, Ky., for the July 18 robbery, near Duchesne, of Neil Clark, ah American Fork sheepherder. The pair were sentenced last Thursday in 4th Judicial district court. Two companions of Pedigo and Smith are still being held by authorities. A 17-year-old youth was returned to Kentucky by Uintah county authorities where he is wanted on a burglary charge. A girl is being held in Vernal on a check forgery charge. The state Adult Parole and Probation board investigated the previous records of Pedigo and Smith to determine whether or not clemency should be given the two youths, according' to County Attorney Earl Dillman. No clemency was recommended. Clark walked into a Duchesne cafe late July 18 and reported that two men had slugged him on a lonely country road and taken several hundred dollars from his wallet. The quartet was apprehended near Heber and brought back to Duchesne. |
