Competition . between the six schools will be in four major departments, de-partments, namely; commerce, speech, music and athletics. This competition will be carried out on a team basis, but recognition will be given for outstanding individual performances. perform-ances. In the speech department, the two winners of inter-school contests con-tests in Dramatic and Humorous readings are invited to represent their respective schools at this meet. Due to transportation difficulties, difficul-ties, and the short preparation period allowed, organized bands will not comDete, although some bands will participate in the days activities. Judges will, however, how-ever, rate outstanding students from the various schools on vocal vo-cal and instrumental solos, duets and ensembles. The athletic contest is the District Dis-trict 5A Track and Field meet. Boys who place first, second or third in any event will be qualified quali-fied to enter the Regional meet at Price in May. In order to encourage greater participation, and create a more, lasting "'ir'fest,.vvards will be made to all winning contestants and teams. Ribbons will go to all speech and track winners; certificates certi-ficates to students rated highest in music; and individual awards and school banners to commercial commer-cial winners. The school that takes first place in the track meet will be presented with a large Championship banner. |
