Show Farm Insurance Farmers throughout the country are insuring their property against fire loss to a greater extent than formerly, former-ly, a recent survey by the Department of Agriculture shows. In 10 years the amount of farm insurance in forces increased from six billion dollars to ten billion dollars. A great deal of this insurance is carried by mutual insurance' companies compan-ies organized by the farmers themselves, them-selves, and the average rate is very low, being only about 26 cents a year for ' each $100 of insurance. Insurance Insur-ance is carried very generally in the Nortern states, while a majority of the farmers in the Southern states carry little or none. Considering the very low rate at which farm insurance may be obtained, it would seem that every prudent farmer would avail himself of this means of protection. |
