Show Taxation Being Studied The Chamber of Commerce of thi United States, by attempting to de ve'op a national consciousness of tin influence of taxes upon progress am prcsperitv, and to promote a wise spending of public funds, is carrying on an activity of the first importance. A short time ago the Chamber issued a pamphlet on the subject of Indebt- edness incurred by municipalities, ad- vocating that, whenever possible, the "pay-as-you-go" plan be adopted, future fu-ture surveys are planned on equally similar phases. The Chamber is making no effort to influence communities to refrain from spending money at the expense of progress. pro-gress.
