Show MORONI By Speci.il Correspondence Boy Scouts of Troop number 1 of the East ward had a big charter night bnnquet Tuesday evening in honor of their fathers. Darrel Rasmussen, local court of honor member, awarded Dale Tidweii a Star Scout badge; Maben Christensen, Christen-sen, two additional badges to his star badge. Tenderfoot badges were awarded to Kent Anderson, Montel Blackham, Mont Blackham, Oral Jackson, Warner War-ner Major. Dean Warren, Eugono Syme and Max Bradley. The following games were played: crows and cranes, won by the Scouts; handkerchief game, won bv the Scouts: 'cakelball, won by the fathers. Forty-two fathers and sons enjoyed one of the best banquets served in Moroni. Mo-roni. Mr. Lars Anderson had the honor o! having three sons present, he gave one of the best toasts of the evening. Honored guests were Darrel Rasmus-sen, Rasmus-sen, court of honor member. Urvin Gee, Vernile Jensen and Leonard Anderson, of the mutual presidency and Ray Blackham of the bishopric. A Parent-Teachers Meeting was held Monday night in the East ward chapel. A musical program under the direction of Ray Anderson was furnished by the sixth grade boys. Mrs. Urvin Gee gave a talk on punctuality punc-tuality and being physically fit to attend at-tend school. Charlotte Bradley, vice chairman of the general welfare committee gave a report on what they had accomplished. They met with Marvin Anderson, manager of the Kozy Theatre and he will give a matinee every Saturday afternoon af-ternoon at three o'clock for the benefit bene-fit of smaller children. Refreshments were prepared and -erved by the junior high school boys and girls. One hour of dancing followed. Mrs. Ted Robertson entertained at a -ard party. Those present were Mrs. John Anderson, Mrs. Elsie Hatch, Mrs. Eddie Issacson, Mrs. Clark Ivory, Mrs. George Jensen, Mrs. Leonard Anderson, Ander-son, Mrs. Ross Madsen of Fountain Green, Miss Connie Larsen, Miss Winnie Win-nie Nelson, Miss Ardell Hogan, Miss Alice Brunner, Miss Sarah Kellett, Miss Vivian Anderson and Miss Billio Bean. Miss Connie Larsen won first prize and Miss Vivian Anderson won the consolation prize. Wednesday evening Miss Ida Draper Dra-per entertained at a Valentine party at her home. The color scheme was carried out in the Valentine idea. Cards and radio music were the evening's eve-ning's entertainment. Justen-en. Bill Allred and Duke Justensen of Spring City. Thursday evening the Sorosis Club entertained their husbands at a Valentine Val-entine party in the club rooms. The rooms were decorated in colors for the occasion. Chicken supper was served at nine o'clock. Seven tables of Rook were nlaye. Ellis Draper and Mrs. Joe Prestwich received the grand prizes; Mrs. Leo Morley and Mert Draper the consolation prizes. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Rav Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Len-tis Len-tis Blackham. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Blackham, Mrs. Emerson Blackham. Mr. and Mrs. Russcl Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Draper, Mr. and Mrs. El-'is El-'is Draper. Mr and Mrs. Mert Draper, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Irons. Mr. and Mrs. John Irons, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Lamb, Mr and Mrs. Mozart Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. James Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Leo' Morley, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Prestwich, Mr and Mrs. E. W. Stucki. Mrs. Cleon was toastmistress. Mr and Mrs. Leo Morley entertained at a Rook party Friday evenin. Twenty Twen-ty guests were present. Refreshments were served. Joseph Faux, aged fifty-eight years, passed away early Monday morning, February 18th, following an operation at the bice hospital. Mr. Faux was born in Moroni, February Feb-ruary 8, 1871. Besides his widow, Mrs. Hannah Faux, he is survived by the following children, Mrs. Jeff Olsen, ' Mrs. Frank Jensen, Mrs. Reid Collard, Elwood. Spencer and Romola Faux, all of Moroni; also four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Earl Cahoon, Jabez Faux of Moroni. Funeral services will be held Thursday Thurs-day at one o'clock in the West ward 1 chapel. Mrs. Cleon is in Salt Lake this week visiting relatives and friends. |
